Chapter 295 Bone Marrow Transplant
Nancy sat in Jasper’s car, refusing to back down. Even during their past arguments and silent treatments. when they were dating, he had always been the one to give in. However, Nancy’s determination remained unwavering.
With her gaze fixed on the car window, Nancy spoke defiantly, “Who told you to care about me and my child? You’re already engaged, Mr. Smith. Be careful not to let your fiancée find out about this. It’s better for us to keep our distance.”
Jasper focused on the road ahead, driving attentively. “Who shamelessly claimed she wanted to be Mrs. Smith at the Smith residence last time? There’s no need to put on an act in front of me now.”
Through gritted teeth, Nancy resentfully replied, “If it weren’t for Ollie, do you think I’d want to go to the Smith residence and endure your grandmother? Besides, you haven’t cared for our child all these years, so you don’t need to start now. Just leave us by the roadside. I’ll find my own way back later.”
Jasper’s gaze turned icy, his voice cold. “I’ve had my lawyer draft a custody agreement. You won’t be able to fight me. The court won’t award custody of a child to a mother with mental illness.”
“So, you plan to let Eileen raise this child and let Ollie call a stranger ‘mom? Jasper, I’m not dead yet! So what if I’m mentally ill? What about you? How good are you? Don’t forget that you’re also a madman!” Nancy sneered.
Nancy hit the nail on the head, for he was indeed a madman.
Nancy looked at him, a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. Her voice was calm and unhurried. “Jasper, haven’t you realized it yet? The current Ollie is you from the past. Meanwhile, Eileen… is the Ruth from years ago. Don’t forget how she destroyed your family back then. From now on. Eileen will be no different from her, similarly destroying us.”
“Shut up!” Jasper slammed on the brakes forcefully.
Nancy almost suffered a hit while cradling Oliver. She protected the child’s head. “Am I wrong? What did we do wrong back then? Even if someone did something wrong, it would be your grandmother. If it weren’t for her constant obstruction, we would have been together long ago, and Ollie wouldn’t have had to endure all this.”
“Eileen has never been a homewrecker, nor will she ever be one. You can never compare to her. She won’t scheme and plot like you all the time.”
Jasper drove them to a private hospital funded by the Smith family.
Oliver was taken into the examination room.
After making a phone call, Jasper walked over to Nancy with an indifferent expression. “The Smith family’s stance is clear. This child cannot stay with you any longer. I’ve arranged for a b*dyguard. From now on, you are not allowed in the hospital without my permission.” As he spoke, he pulled out a ch*ck for thirty million from his pocket. This money is enough for you to live on for the rest of your life and remarry.”
“No way.” Her eyes blazing scarlet, Nancy reached out and tore the ch*ck to pieces.
It seemed as though her actions were within Jasper’s expectations. He merely watched her hysterical antics, letting her do as she pleased.

“All you’ve ever wanted is the title of Mrs. Smith. Your feelings for me have never been about love. Have you ever considered if you would still be so relentless in pursuing me if I weren’t the president of Smith. Corporation, Nancy?”
Nancy was taken aback by his words.
Jasper continued, “Not everything in life has to bear fruit. Eileen is a choice I made while fully sober. Conversely, you… just happened to appear at the right moment and offered me a sliver of warmth. Your slightest kindness, however insignificant, I took it as everything. Back then, we were still young and reckless. From the very beginning, our meeting was a mistake, and I’ve been paying for it ever since. I had a car accident because of you and was paralyzed for five years. Back then, I sought treatment to stand again for her sake, and that remains true even now. My biggest concession is to allow the child to return to the Smith family. However, the title of Mrs. Smith will absolutely never be yours.”
He left with his hand in his pocket. Nancy collapsed onto the ground, all the light in her eyes extinguished, leaving nothing but desolation.
I’m the only one living in the past! Our meeting was a mistake? What about our child, then? Is his only worth to secure the position of Mrs. Smith for Eileen, who can’t bear children? What gives? This is my child, a child I gave birth to. Why should she benefit from it? Even if I were to die, I would never allow them to be together in this lifetime.
As the nurse listened to the hysterical cries echoing from the corridor, she was chilled to the bone. If it weren’t for the fact that Jasper brought the woman over, the hospital would have called the police, suspecting a disturbed individual on the loose.
Upon learning about Oliver’s illness, Layla hurriedly called a taxi and rushed to the hospital.
Oliver was initially suffering from a fever and cold but was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia. Fortunately, the diagnosis was timely, and the hospital quickly searched for a compatible bone marrow.
It was none other than Jasper whose bone marrow was compatible. Generally, the success rate of bone marrow matching was relatively high among those with blood relations.
Jasper did not refuse but agreed to the surgery that very night.
They were wheeled into the operating room together.
Nancy came uninvited and waited at the doors of the operating room.
Layla was also filled with fear and trepidation, ceaselessly praying inwardly, hoping for the safety of both father and son..
Fabian said, “Don’t worry, Old Mrs. Smith. The chances of the surgery being successful are high. Mr. Smith will be fine.”
“Don’t tell Eileen about this matter for now. Let her study abroad in peace. Knowing her, she will definitely return to the country when the time comes,” Layla ordered.
Otherwise, the child’s existence wouldn’t be able to remain a secret for long. She’s the person Jasper cares about the most. They’ve finally gotten together, but until everything has been resolved, we can’t reveal a thing to the public.
Upon catching sight of a figure approaching, Layla turned her gaze towards them. Her expression. immediately turned cold. “Why are you here?”
Nancy glanced at the words above the doors of the operating room, which were flashing red, indicating that surgery was in progress.

Layla let out a cold snort.
Just then, Fabian’s phone started vibrating. Upon seeing the caller ID, he turned around and walked away without hesitation.
He made his way to a quiet balcony.
“Ms. Eileen!” Fabian greeted.
On the other end of the phone, Eileen was tidying up the hotel room, putting on a duvet cover while balancing the phone on her shoulder. “Mr. Sherwood, I remember Jasper is visiting soon, right? When have you scheduled his visit? I need to make some arrangements.”
Fabian glanced back at the tightly closed operating room. “I’m sorry, Ms. Eileen. Mr. Smith… might not be able to come over for quite some time. The company’s affairs are too complicated. Rest a*sured that once everything has been taken care of, Mr. Smith will come over immediately, Ms. Eileen.”
“Oh, I see. Sounding somewhat disappointed, Eileen stopped what she was doing and sat on the bed. “Tell him not to rush over to keep me company. I’ll be fine on my own. I’ve familiarized myself with all the nearby routes these past few days, and I won’t get lost. I apologize for disturbing you this late.”
“Not at all, Ms. Eileen,” Fabian replied.
When Eileen ended the call, the doors of the operating room swung open, signaling the end of the
surgery.
