Chapter 294 Cheating
It is understandable that men cannot tolerate their partners cheating on them.
Eric walked out of the private room next to Will. “I plan to choose a date to publicly acknowledge your identity. You have been by my side for a long time, and it is time for you to be officially recognized as part of the Swan family. This will also put an end to the gossip. Additionally, Jasper will lower his guard against. you.”
“Okay.”
A sharp gleam appeared in Eric’s eyes.
“What good are you if you can’t even handle such a simple task? All you had to do was have a drink. Who are you trying to impress with that sad face of yours? You are here to earn money, not to sulk and draw attention to yourself. If it weren’t for your looks, do you really think you would have a place in Primas.
Plaza?”
At the end of the hallway, a portly manager was angrily scolding a server.
Sarah was poked on the forehead but remained silent, her gaze defiant. She stood tall and endured the scolding without saying a word.
Suddenly, her gaze landed on the man by the elevator. He was dressed in a black shirt, exuded a calm demeanor, and was remarkably handsome. Her eyes remained fixed on him, and she completely ignored the lecture she was receiving.
Eric noticed her gaze, and their eyes met.
Sarah was slightly taken aback, but she sensed a familiar yet dangerous aura coming from him.
In just a few seconds, the man she had noticed had already entered the elevator.
Seeing her distracted, the manager launched into another round of scolding.
After the scolding ended, Sarah went to clear the table. The person who served the private room with her came over to comfort her, saying, “Sarah, are you okay? Did the manager give you a hard time?”
“No. Let’s quickly get to work. Once we’re done, we can clock out, Sarah replied softly, her voice indifferent.
“Okay.”
Primas Plaza operated around the clock, with three rotating shifts. Once she finished cleaning that table, she could leave work early for the day. Taking advantage of the summer break, she planned to work more so that she could afford her tuition fees and continue attending university.
Life was inherently unfair. The amount of money the wealthy spent in one night there might be more than she could earn in her entire lifetime.
Some people could easily obtain certain things, while she had to bow and scrape, sacrificing her own dignity.
Time flew by.

“Are you going to visit Ms. Eileen?” Fabian asked.
“She has never traveled far. I’m worried about her being alone out there. I won’t be at the office for the
next two months, so cancel all unnecessary social engagements. Only contact me by phone for important matters. Everything else can wait until I return.”
“Understood, Mr. Smith.”
Jasper was about to go for lunch when his phone buzzed in his suit pocket as he stepped out of the elevator. He initially thought it was Eileen..
But when he took his phone out, the caller ID showed a string of unfamiliar numbers. He answered the
call.
“Hello. This is Jasper Smith speaking. Who is this?”
The
person on the other end of the phone greeted, “Hello, Mr. Smith. I am the head nurse of Capital Sunshine Children’s Hospital in Hulbury. We have a child in our hospital who has fallen ill with a high fever. After examination, we found that this child has another illness. I originally wanted to contact the child’s mother, but she said she went out to raise money for the medical expenses. Right now, she hasn’t returned for two or three days. Out of desperation, we had no choice but to call you using the phone number we got from the child. Mr. Smith, it’s hard to explain over the phone. If possible, as the child’s father, could you find some time to come to the hospital in person? The situation is critical for this child. now. If we delay any further, his life might be at risk. Unpaid bills from before are still pending, and the hospital has a policy of not providing medication to the child until they’re cleared.”
Jasper had no idea what game Nancy was playing this time. His voice was cold as he said, “You have the wrong number. I am not the child’s father.” With that, he hung up the phone, his face expressionless.
Upon hearing the contents of the phone call, Fabian also remained silent.
It seems that Oliver fell ill and was hospitalized. Nancy left the child at the hospital because she ran out of money. Such a thing is indeed something she is capable of doing. Regardless, the child is innocent. If we were to do nothing, it would be bad if something happened to the child. Old Mrs. Smith is most concerned about having an heir for Smith Corporation. If it weren’t for the fact that Ms. Eileen couldn’t conceive, Nancy wouldn’t stand a chance at all.
They were originally heading to the staff cafeteria. Just as they were about to arrive, Jasper pressed the button for the parking lot on the basement level.
“Stay at the office. I’ll go and see what’s going on.”
“Okay.”
As expected, Mr. Smith still can’t bring himself to completely sever ties.
Jasper drove off, stepping on the gas pedal as he sped out of the parking lot.
Upon arriving at the hospital, he saw Nancy being kicked out of the hospital while cradling Oliver, whose head was bandaged, in her arms.
Following closely behind, the security personnel threw out a plastic bag filled with medicine.

“This is the hospital’s policy. The cost depends on the illness. You can’t even pay a penny, yet you want to have surgery. Get out, get out! Leave immediately!”
Nancy knelt on the ground with the child in her arms, tears streaming down her face as she prostrated herself. “Please, I beg you, save him! He’s only five years old. I’ll find a way to get the money. I promise. Please give me a little more time.”
“Miss, there’s no point in causing a scene. Who doesn’t pay for medical treatment these days? Dr. Larson has already covered your hospitalization fees for the past few days. If you continue, we’ll have to involve the police.”
Smith was slumped on Nancy’s shoulder, his delicate face pale and severely dehydrated. In just a few days, he had lost a significant amount of weight. “Mommy… am I going to die? I don’t feel well. Didn’t you say…. if I got sick. Daddy would come and visit me? Why hasn’t he come yet? I miss him!”
Jasper happened to overhear every word the little boy said. Instantly, his b*dy tensed up and a flicker of pain crossed his eyes.
It seemed as if he had remembered something.
“Mommy, has Daddy abandoned us? The housekeeper told me that he has a new family now. I even have a younger brother. Is he with my younger brother that he didn’t come when I got sick?”
Just as the security personnel were about to touch Nancy, she closed her eyes in fear.
Before she could open them again, she heard a chilling scream in her ear, followed by a familiar cold voice. “How much longer do you plan to kneel? Stop embarra*sing yourself here?
Nancy stood up, but didn’t bother thanking Jasper. She wiped away her tears with one hand. Not wanting to show him her vulnerable side, she turned around to leave with Oliver in her arms.
Without saying another word, Jasper stepped forward and began to pull Nancy away.
“What are you doing? Let go of me! I don’t need you to interfere!”
Jasper didn’t say a word, he simply forced her into the pa*senger seat.
