Chapter 296 Another Spender In The Future
The surgery lasted for four hours, and after a night had pa*sed, both individuals were out of danger.
When Jasper woke up, it was already daytime.
Fabian stood by the bedside, updating him on Oliver’s situation. “The child is now out of danger. The illness was detected in time, and he should recover about three months after the surgery. There’s no need for you to worry, Mr. Smith.”
Jasper pondered for a moment. “Three months… that’s exactly when Eileen will return.”
Jasper coughed a few times, and as he was about to get out of bed, Fabian immediately stopped him. “Mr. Smith, you can’t get out of bed yet. You need ten days to recover.”
“Did Eileen… did she… call?” When he thought of her, besides the urgent desire to see her, what overwhelmed him more was the panic of how to explain things to her. The matter of the child was like a ticking time bomb..
Fabian pursed his l*ps lightly and slowly said, “An hour before the surgery, Ms. Eileen did indeed call. I explained that you have important matters to deal with at the company and that you’ve been resting under the doctor’s orders recently. Ms. Eileen is understanding, and if she had known, she would have also understood your decision. So, you need not worry. Once he gains custody, things with Ms. Eileen will be as they were before.”
Having just undergone surgery, Jasper looked somewhat pale. His short, choppy hair hung low over his forehead, obscuring his obsidian eyes. He appeared deep in thought, his eyes seeming as if they had been stained with black ink, a darkness that lingered for a long time.
He wasn’t sure whether keeping this secret from Eileen was right or wrong.
No sooner had Fabian finished speaking than Nancy, who had been listening at the door, concealed the gloom on her face and walked in with the thermos in her hand. “I heard you’re awake. Thank you for what you did for Ollie. I’ll try to repay the medical expenses gradually. This is the pork and bean stew I made. The doctor said it’s good for your health.”
Nancy spoke as she set down the items. She glanced emotionlessly at the person on the bed, and without. lingering, she had already left.
“She has changed.”
She used to be arrogant and domineering, fearing no one.
From a young age, Nancy lived in a chaotic and unsafe civilian district where law and order were not well maintained. Street thugs and hooligans were a common sight. Yet, she dared to walk alone at night and even had the courage to confront a gang of ruffians single-handedly. Even if she lost, she never bowed her head in defeat. However, compared to her past, she had become much more restrained now.
Fabian responded, “Not only Ms. Mulligan, but you have also changed. Initially, Old Mrs. Smith was worried about your illness, and you would lock yourself in your room all day, refusing to come out. If it weren’t for Ms. Eileen, you might still be trapped in his past shadows.”
As Jasper thought of her, his l*ps unconsciously curled into a smile. “Indeed, if it weren’t for her, perhaps I wouldn’t have made it to this day.”
Jasper turned his head to look at Fabian and said, “Go and arrange the discharge procedures to return to

Jasper cut him off, “Just do it.”
Fabian nodded helplessly. “Okay.”
Mr. Smith probably doesn’t want to stay in the hospital because of Nancy. Now that he is with Ms. Eileen, it would indeed be inappropriate for the two to meet.
After completing the discharge procedures, Fabian left the hospital, pushing a wheelchair.
The b*dyguard also entered the hospital ward where Oliver was staying. A burly man warned, “Mr. Smith. instructed that when he wakes up, a nanny from the Smith family will take care of him. Ms. Mulligan, it would be best if you leave on your own in an hour. If you don’t, we will personally escort you out.”

The card table was occupied by two men and two women; Eric and Zachary were opponents. The chips in front of them had piled up like a mountain, all won from their hands. “You were kicked out of Caerulus Corporation by Jasper, but you don’t seem angry at all. In fact, you look quite happy, huh?”
Eric remained silent.
Interestingly, Zachary kept losing one game after another, and the hundreds of thousands he had were all won by Eric. Now, he was left with only a few small changes, and he had lost interest in playing cards due to his continuous losses.
Feeling agitated and craving a smoke, Zachary could only hold a cigarette in his mouth to satisfy his addiction, as Eric couldn’t stand the smell of smoke.
It’s really quite strange. I’ve never won against him even once.
Just then, the waiter outside opened the private room door.
Daisy glanced around the private room, taking in the various women of all types. She noticed how they were almost clinging to Zachary, dressed in revealing clothes, a hint of dissatisfaction in her eyes. “What did you want to see me about?” she asked.
A playful smile tinted Zachary’s handsome eyes. “Come here, Babe. Help me draw the cards. I need to use the restroom.”
Daisy hadn’t expected this person to be here as well.
Eric had always masqueraded as a high-cla*s gentleman, his every move reflecting the demeanor of a modest and reserved man. Now, it seemed he had shed his disguise. A few buttons of his black shirt were undone, and his tie was casually loosened.

Zachary rarely saw him in this state. He thought he had gotten used to pretending, forgetting that he used. to be a “scoundrel.”
Upon seeing the person in front of him, Eric put his cards together and leaned back, tilting his head to look at Zachary. “Did you come here just to disgust me?”
It was unclear whether this remark was directed at Daisy or Zachary
After all, Daisy’s appearance was personally crafted by Zachary, bearing a remarkable resemblance to Eileen, approximately seventy to eighty percent alike. Now that Eileen was overseas, it just so happened. that Daisy had come over.
Daisy was so furious she wanted to confront him. “Who are you calling disgusting? We haven’t even resolved the issue concerning my brother yet.”
No matter how much she investigated Chandler’s situation, the outcome remained unchanged.
With the current need to handle the chaos at the company, Daisy simply didn’t have the time to delve into this matter.
Eric took out a cigarette from his pocket and placed it in his mouth. The woman beside him, who was there to accompany him while drinking, picked up a lighter. Shielding the flame with her hand, she lit the end of his cigarette.
The man exhaled a puff of Blake smoke, a wicked smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He nodded. “If you seek revenge, provide evidence. Otherwise, I don’t have time to waste on you. The color in his eyes darkened, and he discarded the worthless hand of cards he held, reaching for a lighter on the table.
The money that was originally concealed under the lighter was also thrown out. “Consider these as a tip.”
“Thank you, Mr. Snow,” said the two hostesses.
Zachary pleaded, “No, don’t go! With Eileen not here, I brought her to keep you company, to add some excitement to your life. If you leave, I’ll lose hundreds of thousands. How am I supposed to win it back?”
Eric was about to leave. When it came to money, he wasn’t going to make a fuss about it for now. After all, there might be an additional spender in the future.
He stopped beside Zachary, glancing at him sideways. “Including the interest, it amounts to a total of four hundred and fifty thousand. Go and get the ch*ck tomorrow.”
“Hold on! Have the courage to explain yourself before you leave…”
