Walter gave a nonchalant hum, ruffled Hermosa’s fluffy hair, and said to Olivia, “You take Hermosa in first.”
Olivia glanced at me, nodded slightly, her eyes curved like crescents as she said, “Tabatha, see you in a bit.”
I smiled lightly, watching them enter the Hinton family.
In March in River City, there was a lot of rain. Now, raindrops were starting to fall from the sky again. It seemed that there would be a heavy rain soon.

He remained silent, just staring at me without uttering a word. Suddenly, he curled his l*ps into a cold smile, let go of my arm, and stepped back a few steps. He looked at me with cold indifference and mocked, “Well, that’s fine. In the future, when I marry a gentle wife and have a son, and live a happy and fulfilling life, I won’t have to feel guilty for not taking good care of you in the past.”
I nodded, subtly suppressing the sourness in my heart, looking at him without changing my expression, and said, “The past is in the past, you don’t have to worry about it.”

Words had been spoken, further talk was pointless. I gave a faint smile, ready to leave, when I ran into Marjorie who was slowly approaching. Her mother was following her, which took me aback.
Seeing my mother, I ultimately couldn’t control myself. After months of not seeing her, how I missed her.
I wanted to step forward, but my mother didn’t even glance at me. Instead, she walked over to Walter with Marjorie by her side.
With a smile on her face, Marjorie was gentle and charming. She glanced at me lightly, then turned to Walter and spoke softly, “There was traffic on the road, I didn’t come too late, did I?”
Walter shook his head, his gaze still on me. This wasn’t a place I should have been in the first place. My mother didn’t want to see me. The bitterness in my heart only left me with the option of not appearing before her, to avoid upsetting her.

He held Marjorie by the waist and said to me, “In half a month, we will have our wedding. I will send someone to deliver the invitation to you. I hope you can come and have a drink at that time.”
