Chaim noticed the tense atmosphere and tried to ease the situation by addressing Thiago, saying, “Not calling you, do you dare not come back?”
Thiago, scolded into submission, couldn’t even lift his head as he replied, “Of course not. How could I not come back to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday?”
Gianna chuckled, fully aware that only Chaim and their grandpa could handle Thiago.
Bill seemed happier now.
“Take good care of Gianna’s nanorobot project,” he instructed Jonathan.
“Oh, Grandpa, you don’t need to worry. Jonathan will do his best,” Gianna a*sured, hugging both her brothers and smiling brightly.
Jonathan responded with a simple, “Of course.”
Seeing Gianna so dedicated to her career now, Bill felt rea*sured.
“Grandpa needs more rest. I’ll end the call now,” Chaim stepped in.
The family then ended the video call.
In the living room, Simon was leisurely sipping his coffee, awaiting good news.
He absentmindedly tapped his thumb on the table, noticing that the thumb ring was still missing. This realization briefly soured his mood, but the thought of soon getting his hands on it made him break into a happy tune.
Meanwhile, the butler had been standing still for a while, and after checking the time, he noticed that the group he had dispatched hadn’t reported back yet. Not wanting to disturb Gianna’s mood, he quietly moved to another corner and dialed the phone of the tattooed man.
He tried calling several times before finally getting through.
“Hello! What are you guys up to? Haven’t you handled this little matter yet? Did you manage to snatch that woman’s stuff?”
The voice on the other end of the line replied, “This is the police station, and we were actually looking for you. We need you to come over.”
The butler was so startled that he dropped his phone to the ground. He hurried over to Simon’s side, his face filled with concern. “Mr. Turner, something’s not right. Those people have been taken to the police station, and they want you to go there!”
Simon not only spilled his coffee this time but also knocked everything off the table in his shock. and anger.
A mistress who had climbed to his position through a man was now playing him to this extent! No one had ever dared to disrespect him like this before!
“Summon all the influential people from the entertainment industry for me. I want to make sure this woman is treated like a pariah in Silver City!”
Levi happened to be visiting the Turner Villa at that moment.
Today was Naomi’s prenatal checkup day, and after accompanying Naomi into the villa, he had intended to leave. However, he noticed several familiar entertainment industry executives in the backyard.

He added, “If anyone withdraws, they’ll be going against me, the Turner family! You all know the consequences.”
All the executives present agreed to Simon’s terms.
Levi quickly exited the gates of the Turner Villa and got back into his car. He dialed Gianna’s number.
The first call surprisingly got disconnected!
He patiently dialed a second time, which finally connected.
“What’s the matter, Mr. Rivera?”
“I’ll give you one final piece of advice. Return Simon’s thumb ring to him immediately.” Gianna’s tone on the phone was nonchalant. “Whether I return it or not is my business.”
“Why provoke a formidable man?” Levi’s tone was growing noticeably impatient. Why wouldn’t this woman listen to him?
Gianna gave a cold snort. “Mr. Rivera, you and I both know who provoked whom in the first place.”
Naomi was the one who planned the car accident, Gianna was just fighting back.
“Now he wants to mobilize the power of the entire entertainment industry to smear you. It is just a thumb ring, why should you be so stubborn?”
“Humph, just a thumb ring?”
“Gianna, it’s time to cut your losses,” Levi continued, “Remember the terms we discussed last time. I’ll cover the money.”
“That’s not happening.”
Levi furrowed his brow. “You’re going against the entire world for the so–called dignity. It’s not worth it.”
“Levi, fundamentally, you and Simon are the same. You both view me as a powerless woman, perhaps lucky enough to climb the ladder and become the general manager of Empyrean Group.
“In your eyes, my dignity isn’t even worth mentioning. It’s not even as important as the dogs you raise. You only care about whether your goals are achieved, regardless of others‘ lives.
“If I didn’t have that thumb ring today, I probably wouldn’t even have the opportunity to negotiate with you, would I?”
Gianna’s words left Levi speechless.
That statement had indeed hit home. If Gianna were still his wife, he would have demanded her to come and apologize in person and handed over the thumb ring without a second thought.
If it weren’t for that ring, he might have remained coldly distant due to his lingering resentment toward Gianna.
