Chapter 89 The Leaker
Chapter 89 The Leaker
“Isn’t it? Stacy?” Gianna continued playfully, smiling.
Stacy suddenly felt uncomfortable under the spotlight. “You’re right, Ms. Lewis.”
Gianna twirled the blue diamond ring between her fingers, her gaze sharp as a dagger. “Stacy, why did you come up here at the very end?”
“Me?” Stacy pointed at herself. “I went to the restroom.
“Ms. Lewis, you’re quite attentive, monitoring my restroom breaks now?” Stacy shot back.
Gianna grabbed a stack of documents that Erwin had prepared and slid them in front of Stacy. “It’s more than just a restroom break, isn’t it? Were you planning to send a message to the person a*sisting you in manipulating Valken Group’s stock prices, asking them to halt their activities?” Liam only glanced at the documents and immediately understood Gianna’s implication.
He lowered his voice, as if suppressing a brewing storm, and said, “Stacy, please provide an explanation.”
Stacy, now pale and visibly shaken, avoided looking at the documents.
She paled, feeling a cold sweat forming on her back, growing increasingly restless.
She couldn’t believe that her covert actions had been uncovered by Gianna.
Gianna smiled and said, “I already have enough evidence to expose it.”
She continued, “You intentionally leaked the source code when it was shared with Empyrean Group, causing a stock market panic and a sell–off by panicked investors. All the while, you were sitting back, reaping the benefits and acquiring more Valken Group shares.”
Gianna turned to Liam and said, “Mr. Hill, she might not dare to admit her ambitions so openly.
“Mr. Hill, when I had people manipulate the stock market, it was to prevent the stocks from falling into the wrong hands. Please don’t misunderstand. I really didn’t have any ulterior motives,” Stacy hastily began defending herself, trying to regain her composure.
Liam furrowed his brow, never having imagined that right under his nose, one of the directors he trusted would betray him like this.
What was even more astonishing was that he hadn’t noticed anything, and it took the cooperation company to bring it to light. He felt utterly defeated.
He spoke with a heavy voice, “Ms. Lewis, Mr. Rivera, I will thoroughly investigate this matter, and I will provide you with an explanation.”
Gianna said, using her most gentle tone to deliver the most ominous message, “Mr. Hill, with someone like this trying to sabotage our cooperation behind your back, I can’t help but worry about whether our future collaboration will proceed smoothly.”
She was using the threat of pulling her investment again, and it had worked before.
She needed to ensure that this collaboration went off without a hitch, and Stacy was the potential time bomb that had to be defused.
Stacy had been with Liam for many years, so removing her would require some strong pressure. Levi surprisingly joined in, “Rivera Group also needs to reconsider the collaboration on the development project.”
Gianna was momentarily surprised but quickly smiled knowingly. It seemed that Levi had also

thought about the same thing.
Despite their personal grudges, when it came to making money, they shared the same goals. Levi couldn’t afford to be careless about these potential dangers.
However, the fact that she had helped Levi today with resolving the dark web issue.
Helped him?
Gianna couldn’t help but feel irritated.
On one side was the pressure from the cooperating company, and on the other were the expectant looks from the board members. Liam finally made up his mind. “Stacy, starting today, you are relieved of all your duties at Valken Group.”
Stacy couldn’t believe it. Had she just been dismissed by Liam?
“As for the stocks obtained illegally through the leak, I will have our lawyers handle the lawsuits.”
Stacy slumped in her chair, her whole world crashing down. She had lost everything.
Once Liam provided a satisfactory response, Gianna got up and left.
She walked over to Jonathan, who was typing rapidly on his keyboard. “Let’s go, 008,” Gianna said warmly.
Jonathan lifted his head, closed his computer, and replied with a wooden expression, “Sure.”
Gianna pa*sionately helped Jonathan pack his computer into the nearby briefcase and then pulled him away.
Liam watched their departing figures and remarked, “It’s really rare to see Ms. Lewis treat someone like this. I presume the individual’s identity is more than just an engineer.”
