Chapter 448 A Nickname Basis?
“You’re saying you want Sarah to hop onboard with Empyrean Group, Thiago?” Gianna caught on
in a flash.
Thiago affirmed with a nod.
“That’s the plan.”
Gianna took a moment, sizing up the situation.
Sarah wasn’t just another aspiring artist. She had a growing fan base.
Snatching her up would be no walk in the park, especially given the fame she’d already garnered.
And yet, here was Sarah, eager to jump ship to Empyrean Group.
“Ms. Lewis, you don’t seem thrilled about me coming aboard.”
Sarah jested.
“On the contrary, Ms. Williams. Having you with us would be a feather in our cap.”
“In that
case, I’m eager to learn from you, Ms. Lewis.”
Sarah shot Thiago a fleeting glance.
Gianna caught it. It was an unmistakable softness.
Sarah was clearly after something or someone.
Before Gianna could speak, her phone shattered the silence, buzzing in her pocket. She pulled it out instinctively and saw the caller ID. Her heart dropped.
She hesitated but finally answered it.
“Gianna, you at work?”
It was Natasha’s voice.
“A bit surprised to hear from you, Natasha. What pulls you out of your cave?”
Gianna’s eyes darted toward Thiago and Sarah.
“Heard you’re diving into the talent game. You’ll need backers, right?”
Gianna chuckled, “You keep to yourself, yet you’re up-to-date on our latest moves?”
“Vere is thinking of sponsorships this year. Got the scoop on your new venture. Let’s hash it out face-to-face?”
“Sounds good. I’m at the office. I’ll have Erwin come get you.”
“No need. I can navigate. Just park and head up.”
Hanging up, Gianna’s eyes met Thiago’s. “Natasha’s swinging by.”
Thiago, unflustered, said, “You two chat. I’ll give Sar the grand tour.”
Sar?
The name caught Gianna’s attention.
She thought, “Since when are you two on a nickname basis?”
“Ms. Lewis, we’ll go ahead. We’ll sync up later,” Sarah chimed in.
Gianna offered a manufactured smile. “Of course, go ahead.”
Sarah turned to go, but Gianna suddenly stopped Thiago. “Hold on, Thiago. We need to talk.”

He didn’t think much and a*sured Sarah, “Wait outside for me.”
Sarah agreed, “Of course, Thiago.”
Once she was out of sight, Gianna seized Thiago’s arm, mixing curiosity and irritation. “Thiago, spill. What’s the real story with you and this Sar?”
Thiago looked genuinely puzzled.
“I’ve already told you, she’s my industry junior. She’s struggling with her previous agency, and I saw a chance for her and us. Think of it as a good deed.”
“Just that?”
Gianna was far from convinced. The way Sarah’s eyes softened when she looked at him was too syrupy to ignore.
