Chapter 4 No Longer Your Wife
Gianna stripped off his shirt and k*ssed down his abdominal muscles, overwhelmed by love and desire. Her ears turned slightly red.
Her voice was hoarse as she continued her movements. “Mr. Rivera, you asked me how I became your wife, didn’t you? I almost forgot. The primary duty of your wife is to give birth to your child… I’m merely fulfilling my duty.”
“How dare you?!”
As he grew angry, his abdominal muscles became more prominent.
“I sprayed some aphrodisiac in the room. Bear with it. It’ll be over soon. I just wanted a child
too…”
She grew bolder and more audacious. She abandoned the meekness and obedience she once showed in front of him.
Levi’s breathing grew heavy as he felt his b*dy respond instinctively to her shameless teasing. He forcefully controlled all the reactions caused by the aphrodisiac, gripping her fingers: “Gianna, you make me sick!”
The desire that had been burning in her eyes vanished at his words.
Tears welled in her eyes as she clung to a last glimmer of hope and asked, “So, doing something like this with me really makes you so disgusted?”
“Yes!”
Levi stated firmly without any hesitation, looking at her. His words like a sharp blow to her heart. The next moment, he pushed her away with extreme contempt.
Levi had no intention of speaking another word to her. He picked up his clothes from the ground and hastily put them on, not even bothering to fasten his shirt buttons as he walked away from
her.
The entire room fell silent as the door slammed shut with a bang sound.
Gianna slumped to the ground, her nails digging into her palm, her eyes filled with coldness and mockery.
From this point on, she should finally give up.
Early the next morning, Gianna limped downstairs with her luggage. The servants were already preparing breakfast. Maya was probably at the altar at this time, so she wasn’t home.
“Gianna, you narrowly escaped death. What are you doing with that suitcase so early in the morning? Planning a trip?” it was Alaia Rivera, Levi’s younger sister and a sophomore at Silver University.
She had always disliked Gianna and had a quirky way of speaking, “If you’re going out, at least come do my hair first. Make yourself useful and braid my hair before taking me to school!”
Gianna was skillful at hairstyling, and her cla*smates had often praised Alaia for her hairstyle. However, today, Gianna completely ignored her, dragged her luggage, and went straight downstairs. She coincidentally bumped into Sienna Rivera, her mother–in–law, who was fully dressed and looking every bit the wealthy lady.
Sienna was Colton Rivera’s second wife and Levi and Alaia’s birth mother.
Sienna never liked Gianna’s background and family, always speaking to her in a harsh tone, “What
are you doing carrying luggage so early in the morning? Put it down and go help Peria clean a room. We’ll have a new resident in the Rivera Manor soon.”
Gianna’s eyelids twitched. She had a vague sense of what was coming. Then she heard Alaia’s curious voice. “New resident? Who?”
“Who else could it be? Naomi!”
“What? Naomi’s back from abroad?”
“Not only did she come back, but she’s also carrying your brother’s child! Rivera Manor has a good vibe, so she’s staying here temporarily instead of going back to the Turner family.”
Sienna glanced over at Gianna as she spoke. Naomi Turner was the daughter–in–law she had envisioned. It would have been Naomi marrying her son if it weren’t for that incident!
She looked up smugly toward Gianna and said, “Why are you standing there dazed? Why aren’t you hurrying over?!”
Gianna would have been careful and cautious in flattering her in the past.
But today, even after she heard these words, her eyes held no trace of the usual accommodating pleasantry.
Her heart was filled with uncontrollable pain, but she still tried to appear composed. “Starting today, Levi and I will have nothing to do with each other. Whoever wants to deal with these trivial matters can go ahead and do so.”
