Chapter 388 Getting Closer to the Truth
Gianna seized upon
the housekeeper’s words and asked, seemingly casually, “You’ve worked at the White Villa for many years, so you’re like family here.”
The housekeeper nodded. “Yes, I’ve been here since Ms. White was very young. It’s been almost twenty years.”
Gianna exchanged a glance with Shawn and continued, “You must have watched Susan grow up.” The housekeeper smiled and seemed to be lost in thought, reminiscing. “Our young lady was very obedient when she was little. She followed what her father and mother said.
“Moreover, Ms. White has always been an excellent student, and she was the pride of her father and mother. If they were still alive, she would be the happiest child in the world. But…..”
The housekeeper sighed, “Unfortunately, her parents had a tragic car accident five years ago, and Ms. White, though she survived, spent nearly two years in the hospital. Afterward, she couldn’t. recover from the sadness, and her whole personality changed.”
“You mean Susan was in the hospital for two years after the car accident? And you’ve been taking care of her during that time?”
The housekeeper nodded reluctantly. “The accident had a significant impact on Ms. White. We had no choice.”
Then, the housekeeper changed the subject, “So, you’re here to retrieve a design drawing for her, right?”
Gianna nodded and replied, “Yes, we’d appreciate your help with that.”
The housekeeper kindly agreed, saying, “Of course, it’s only natural. However, Ms. White has many design drawings. I don’t know which one you’re looking for. Let me find them for you.”
Gianna immediately got up, saying, “I’ll help you find it.”
Unexpectedly, as she took a few steps, the housekeeper stopped her, “There’s no need for that, young lady. Ms. White has instructed that no one is allowed into her art studio when she’s not. home. Let’s not break her rules. I’ll go and fetch the designs.”
Gianna halted in her tracks, nodding with a smile. “Sure, thank you.”
The three of them waited in the living room.
After a short while, the housekeeper returned with a stack of design sketches.
“Here are all of Ms. White’s design drawings.”
She added, “In the field of design, Miss Susan is very accomplished. Mr. White used to say that Miss Susan would become an outstanding fashion designer one day. And indeed, Miss Susan is remarkable. She hasn’t disappointed her father’s and mother’s expectations over all these years. “Please take a look and see if the design you’re looking for is among them. If it’s not here, I can search for it.”
“OK, thank you!” Gianna said.
Then she took the design sketches, and carefully examined them one by one.
Susan’s design skills were indeed impressive, bordering on world-cla*s.
As Gianna examined, she noticed that most of the drawings were from five years ago, with a style that was notably more understated.

These older designs had a similar aesthetic to those that had been tampered with. Gianna instantly realized the significance of the five-year time frame.
The car accident had occurred at that point.
Her eyes narrowed.
“Are these designs from Susan’s earlier work? Do you have any of her more recent design. drawings?”
