Chapter 269 Be My Husband
Shawn felt happy when he heard his name. He held Gianna’s hand seriously as they rode horses in the manor.
Gianna’s eyes were full of curiosity as she asked a series of questions.
“Shawn, why doesn’t Star talk?
“Why is the sky blue?
“Why do birds fly?
“Why are there boys and girls?”
Little Gianna seemed like a girl with one hundred thousand questions, but young Shawn wasn’t impatient with her and patiently answered all her questions.
“Wow, Shawn, you are amazing! You know everything!”
Gianna looked at him with admiration, her face lit up with appreciation, making Shawn feel incredibly fulfilled.
He
thought, “This little girl was so cute!”
“Gianna, can you only play with me?”
Gianna shook her head. “No!” Then, she earnestly counted on her fingers. “I have three brothers at home. Plus you, Shawn, that makes four playmates for me!”
Young Shawn’s face darkened all of a sudden.
A surge of jealousy welled up within him.
“You have three brothers? But I only have you as a playmate!”
Gianna’s eyes rolled around, and finally, she took the initiative to hold Shawn’s little hand.
“Shawn, don’t be my playmate. How about being my husband?”

Shawn was taken aback. After all, he was seven years old.
He knew many things that many other kids didn’t. For instance, boys and girls would get married when they grew up.
In that way, they could have babies.
And when they got married, they could call each other husband and wife.
After getting married, they could always be with each other for a lifetime!
But his mom had told him that he couldn’t get married easily.
So he asked, “Why do you want me to be your husband?”
Gianna, with an innocent look, replied, “Because my brother told me that every girl can only have one husband when they grow up. So, Shawn, why don’t you consider being my husband?”
Young Shawn thought this was a fantastic idea!
In that case, this adorable little girl would be with him all the time.
“Okay.”
“Then we make a vow.”
“Okay.”
They made the vow together, sealing a beautiful promise.
However, the next day, Shawn was awakened by a burst of crying. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and saw a teary–eyed Gianna beside him.
He panicked all of a sudden.
“Gianna, what’s wrong?”
He tried to comfort her hurriedly, but no matter how he comforted her, nothing stopped her from crying. Instead, she cried even harder.
“Gianna, don’t cry.
“I give you a toy.
“Or buy you a doll.
“Or take you horse riding?”
Little Shawn was in a hurry, sweating profusely, but he couldn’t find any solution.
At this moment, Lily pushed the door, walked in, and hugged her with concern. “Gianna, what happened? Sweetie, why are you crying?”
Gianna, with a face full of distress, buried herself in Lily’s embrace. “Boohoo… My brother said I can’t sleep in the same bed with boys, or I will get pregnant. I don’t want to get pregnant. I don’t want a baby…”
Gianna cried louder as she spoke.
Lily was both amused and helpless when hearing her words. “Sweetie, you won’t get pregnant.” Gianna’s crying stopped abruptly, her tear–stained face looking at Lily expectantly. “Really?” Lily nodded seriously. “You and Shawn haven’t gotten married. You are just kids. Kids can’t have babies with each other.”
Gianna nodded, seeming to understand, and let out a relieved smile.
