Chapter 267 A Mad Dog Run Out
Shawn remained calm and handed the menu back, saying, “These dishes are fine for now. We can order more if we need to.”
After the waiter left, Gianna finally put down her water gla*s and asked, “Shawn, how did you know that I don’t eat onions and peppers?”
Even Levi, who had been married to her for three years, didn’t know.
But Shawn knew about it clearly.
Shawn raised his gaze, his deep eyes locked onto hers, finally saying, “Chaim told me.”
“Chaim?”
Shawn nodded casually.
But he didn’t say that these were the result of his careful observation.
Gianna didn’t doubt him.
“Gianna, is it really you?” A sudden voice made Gianna slightly raise his eyebrows, and Ruby approached Gianna.
Ignoring everything else, Ruby looked at Gianna and then looked at Shawn, trying to find out hot gossip.
As Levi’s sister–in–law, she had never liked Gianna. However, she hadn’t expected that since leaving the Rivera family, Gianna would be with such an outstanding man.
“What’s your relationship?” Ruby asked.
Gianna had no fondness for her family, especially this blabbermouth, Ruby.
“Ms. Rivera, does it concern you?”
Ever since Gianna had rejected Ruby last time, Ruby had held a grudge against her.
Now that Gianna was asking such a question, Ruby felt a little embarra*sed.
So, the words that came out of her mouth were not friendly. “What’s wrong? You left our family and started keeping a man. But this man is far worse than Levi. I have no idea what kind of taste you have.”
If Ruby had said this about Gianna today, Gianna might not have been so angry.
But she had to bring Shawn into it.
Gianna didn’t hold back in her reply. “Where did this mad dog come from, biting people at will?”
“Are you calling me a mad dog?”
“Isn’t that what
you are?”
Ruby’s face turned red with anger, but Gianna wasn’t afraid and continued, “Your husband is still looking for a job, right? Do you think if I make a call in the industry, he can still find work?”
Gianna had struck where it hurt.
Mentioning this had instantly doused Ruby’s arrogance.
Now, Gianna was no longer the same as the Gianna of the past. Ruby couldn’t compete with her. On the other side, Shawn smiled knowingly and used a napkin to wipe the corner of her mouth. This scene left Ruby furious.
But she had no choice and stomped away.
The encounter with Ruby didn’t affect Gianna and Shawn.
After finishing their meal, they went together to Fallon Group.
Although the employee’s at Fallon Group weren’t very familiar with Gianna, Shawn had introduced her publicly during a staff meeting.
She was a honorary director of the Fallon Group.
So when they saw her, everyone greeted her politely, saying, “Hello, Ms. Lewis!”
Gianna felt puzzled and couldn’t help but ask after they entered the elevator, “Shawn, why are they being so polite to me?”
She knew that Fallon Group was founded with contributions from the Fallon family and the Lewis family, but she had never worked at Fallon Group. Shawn said with a smile, “Don’t you know? You have a forty–nine percent stake in Fallon Group.”
Gianna was stunned.
“Forty–nine percent?”
She thought, “Doesn’t that mean she has an absolute say in Fallon Group? It makes sense that collaborating with Empyrean Group would be a natural fit.
After all, Every miller draws water to his own mill.”
“Shawn, why didn’t you tell me this before?”
“It shouldn’t be too late to tell now.”
As they exited the elevator, they coincidentally ran into Vicky.
