Chapter 266 Returned to the Country
Levi kept his gaze fixed on the direction where Gianna had gone and questioned, “Naomi, did you do this intentionally? You knew Gianna was here, and you orchestrated this whole scene?”
“Levi, you are misunderstanding me!”
“Enough of your games. Both you and I know very well what kind of person you are!
“I didn’t bail you out just so you could come here and act recklessly.
“I’m warning you, stay away from Gianna. Otherwise, I will personally make sure you end up back in jail.”
Naomi got exasperated, trying to grab Levi’s arm. But he shook her off. “That’s enough. Don’t pretend here. You have the card now. Buy whatever you want yourself. Don’t call me next time.”
With those words, Levi left, ignoring Naomi’s displeased expression and leaving her behind.
Inside the car, Levi took out his phone and made a call. “What progress has there been regarding the task I a*signed you to keep an eye on Naomi?”
“Mr. Rivera, there haven’t been any developments yet…”
“Keep a close eye on her, and report any suspicious activities immediately.”
“Yes, Mr. Rivera.”
“Yesy
After hanging up the phone, Levi tossed the phone aside immediately.
He raised his gaze and looked into the distance with a bewildered expression. He couldn’t help but recall Gianna’s indifferent demeanor, and it seemed like he could never get her back again.
“Gianna, I have returned to the country.”
Gianna had just finished a video conference when she received a message from Shawn. Her eyes lit up,
and she quickly called him.
“Shawn! You are in Silver City?”
On the other end of the call, Shawn raised his gaze and glanced at the magnificent Empyrean Group building in front of him, saying, “Yes, I’m back. I heard you want to discuss a
collaboration?”
“Shawn, are you a mind reader? How did
you
know?”
“I’m right downstairs at your company.”
Gianna was astonished and rushed to the window. Looking down, she indeed spotted Shawn’s familiar black Rolls–Royce Phantom.
“Well, Shawn, please wait for me. I will come down right away.”
She hung up the phone, gathered a stack of documents, and headed downstairs, seeing Shawn was already waiting for her there.
Seeing her, Shawn took a step forward and said, “Take your time. There is no need to rush.”
However, Gianna first checked his condition, asking him with a voice filled with concern, “Shawn, how are you? Are you okay now?”
Shawn ruffled her hair. “Don’t worry. I have already recovered.”
“It won’t leave any scars, will it?”
Shawn felt a warmth in his heart and comforted her. “It won’t.”
Gianna finally felt relieved.
“That’s good.”
Shawn then directly took her hand in his. “It’s lunchtime. Let’s
“Sure.”
Gianna agreed, her eyes glancing at their joined hands.
She didn’t pull away and allowed him to hold her hand.

eat.”
At this moment, the warmth transmitted through their palms made her feel at ease.
They chose a well–known restaurant. Since Gianna loved spicy food, she ordered several signature dishes and handed the menu to the waiter.
“No onions, no pepper, medium hot.”
“No onions, no pepper, medium hot.”
Gianna and Shawn spoke almost simultaneously, making Gianna look at Shawn with astonishment, wondering how he knew her tastes and preferences so well.
The waitress by their side couldn’t help but tease, “Gemtleman, you really understand your girlfriend’s preferences.”
Girlfriend?
A hint of awkwardness colored Gianna’s cheeks, and she instinctively reached for the gla*s of water in front of her, taking a big sip.
