Chapter 242 Once Unfaithful Never Needed

Seeing him quickly retreat from her, Rebecca couldn’t help but smile self–deprecatingly. She regained some clarity.
She lowered her gaze and clenched her fists.
After being rejected, her frustration and embarrassment were evident on her face. She couldn’t help but recall the scene at the staircase earlier, where Levi instinctively protected Gianna… Didn’t they get divorced?
Why are they still entangled?
Rebecca’s eyes darkened, and a trace of ruthlessness flickered in her gaze.
When Levi finished showering and changed his clothes, he searched around but couldn’t find any trace of Gianna.
Maya sighed softly and said, “Gianna has already left…”
Levi was surprised and somewhat resentful as he asked, “Grandma, why didn’t you ask her to stay?”
“You brat, are you being honest with me? What are you thinking?”
Maya’s tone clearly showed her displeasure. “I asked you to be considerate of Gianna, but you insisted on being foolish. Now that you’re divorced, you’re eagerly pursuing her again. Isn’t that self–destructive?”
“Grandma! What are you saying?”
But Maya was displeased as she said, “Did you resolve your previous affairs with those rotten. peach blossoms? If I remember correctly, you were the one who cheated first and got someone pregnant.”
Bringing up
the past.
Levi’s face darkened.
Although Maya usually doted on him, she showed no mercy when it came to this matter.
“Once unfaithful, never needed. Remember those words.”
“If Gianna forgives you, you must spend the rest of your life repenting.”
“But if Gianna can’t bear this burden, don’t force her. Perhaps, your fate has already come to an end…”
Upon hearing Maya’s words, Levi’s brows remained furrowed. He lost interest in socializing at the banquet and returned to his bedroom alone.
Smoke filled the balcony, and ash covered the floor.
After an unknown amount of time passed, Levi made an international call with his phone. “How did the investigation I asked you to do turn out?”
It was unclear what the other person said.
Levi abruptly stubbed out the cigarette in his hand. “Good, I’ll book a flight immediately.”
Levi acted swiftly and flew overseas that night.
After leaving the Rivera family, Gianna didn’t return to the company. Instead, she went to a boutique in a shopping mall.
It had been a while since she had come, but the store was still bustling as ever. Kaylee had hired
two new assistants to help out.
“Hey, darling, why do you have time to come today?”
Kaylee exclaimed in surprise. Gianna smiled and asked, “Just passing by, how’s the business here?”
“Don’t worry! Everything’s fine,” Kaylee assured her.
Seeing Gianna looking troubled, Kaylee couldn’t help but pull her aside and ask, “Darling, what’s wrong today? Why do you seem to be hiding something?”
Gianna pursed her lips and asked the question that was bothering her, “What do you think… about someone living a perfectly normal life but hanging black and white photos of themselves at home? Doesn’t that go against common sense?”
After all, according to the tradition, such an act might be considered inauspicious.
Kaylee didn’t understand what Gianna was getting at but expressed her opinion, “Why would someone who’s living a good life hang their own black and white photos on the wall? Isn’t that inviting bad luck? Normally, people wouldn’t do such a thing…”
This was exactly what Gianna was thinking.
However, she couldn’t help but think of the forbidden room in the Rivera family and the photos hanging on the wall. Could it all be just a coincidence?
