Chapter 11 Spend the Night With Me
Coleen felt offended by Chad’s rude behavior, but as a staff member at the club, she didn’t want to make a scene with a customer. Hence, Coleen forced a smile and reminded herself to remain composed. “Mr. Lynch, this is a public place. Please show some respect.” “Respect?” Chad sneered. “You’re no longer the notable celebrity you used to be. Do you think you’re still qualified to talk to me like that? You should feel honored that I’m still interested in you, understand?” Leslie Xavier, the head of the VIP area, had found out about the situation and arrived with a group of staff. Smiling, Leslie said, “Mr. Lynch, what happened? Did something upset you? If there’s anything about our service that you’re unsatisfied with, please let me know. I’ll make immediate improvements. Oh, by the way, this is our new Public Relations Department Manager. I was going to introduce her to you, but it seems like you’ve met her already. How about we go inside to have a chat? Our manager was going to offer you a drink.” “Public Relations Manager?” Chad looked at Coleen with a cold smile. “I can’t believe you’ve gone down to doing this kind of job.” Coleen bit her l*p and tried to free herself from Chad’s grasp, but he wouldn’t let go. She replied with a faint smile, “Work should not be judged by its prestige. I take my job seriously regardless of what it is.” “Is that so? Since you’re the Public Relations Manager, I would like you to spend the night with me. What’s the price?” Coleen clenched her fists silently. Leslie hastily interjected, “Mr. Lynch, you’re so humorous. Our club doesn’t offer that kind of service…” “Get lost.” He turned to stare at Leslie sharply. “Your club charges a high fee. Don’t you know that the customer is always right?” Leslie remained silent. Indeed, the club believed in the motto that “the customer is always right”. Leslie looked worriedly at Coleen. It was Coleen’s first day at work here. If Coleen had a fight with a customer, it would be bad for business. And now, Chad showed no signs of backing down. After a moment of silence, Coleen suddenly smiled at Leslie, “It’s okay. Please take your team and attend to your duties.” “But…” Leslie frowned. “Don’t worry. Mr. Lynch and I have known each other for a long time. He was joking just now. Mr. Lynch is a smart man. He wouldn’t want to provoke Mr. Stanley Roman just because of me.” Coleen addressed Chad, “Isn’t that right, Mr. Lynch?” “Mr. Stanley Roman?” Chad looked surprised. “You are with Mr. Stanley?” Coleen turned to look at Leslie, who understood her intention and led the staff away. Coleen gently pushed away Chad’s hands that had been restraining her. This time, he didn’t persist, which suggested that he was indeed a smart guy. Looking him in the eye, Coleen said, “Mr. Stanley and I are not dating. He’s offering me a refugee because I have nowhere else to go. I only said that earlier to save face in front of my subordinates.” Her reputation in Serendale was not good. Rumors of her and Stanley being romantically involved would tarnish his image, and Coleen didn’t want that for a man who had helped her. Chad frowned, looking puzzled. “What do you mean by you have nowhere else to go? Diana has been dead for years. Does Lyndon still refuse to be with you?”
