Chapter 340 I Can Read Your Mind, Maia 

After that, he walked toward the entrance with her hand in his. The winery was quite different from the hallway. A lot of staff were moving about here. Word traveled fast that Maia and Cedric were in the winery. So, a big group of them rushed over to see them. 

Maia was a little embarrassed. She tried to shake him off, “L–Let me go, Cedric. There are a lot of people here…” 

“Why do I have to let go? I’m merely holding my wife’s hand.” He said it in such a matter–of- fact way that it stunned Maia and made her look at him. 

“It turns out you’re the type of guy who takes a mile when given an inch.” 

Cedric smiled at that and leaned in her ear, “How about I give you something longer than an inch?” 

“Why, you!” 

Annoyed, she moved to hit him in the chest. He could have stopped her, but he held her hand and made her hit him instead. However, Maia did not throw any weight behind the hits. 

Then, he said, “You murdered your own husband, Maia.” 

“Are you really this thick–skinned, Cedric? You clearly held my hand and made me hit you. Are you going to claim that I murdered you? How could you frame me like this?” 

She would fall for his tricks the moment she let her guard down. Where did he learn to play so well with words? 

Maia did not respond. She chose to remain quiet and not utter a single word, just to see how he would trick her further. 

On the other hand, Cedric noticed her reaction and stopped. He had teased her so much already. If he kept going, she might not just boot him out of the room, but out of the house entirely! 

Holding her tender hands, he asked solemnly, “I take it you probed Elena. How did it go?” 

Maia was a little surprised and asked, “How did you know I was doing that?” 

He chuckled, “I can read your mind, Maia.” He knew her intentions the moment he learned that she was at the winery. She had no evidence, so she could not just tell Errol that Elena was involved in the black market drug fiasco. That meant she had to probe Elena to see how she 

reacted. 

Maia looked around them and got into the car with him. As soon as the door closed, she said, Elena was very suspicious. She started panicking when I brought up Tiffany. She tried hard to

Maia sighed and looked at the winery through the window. “I’m pretty sure Elena loves Errol. She might be able to lie with her words, but not her eyes. The way she looked at him was completely different. She loves him with all of her heart.” 

Then, she told Cedric what she was really thinking. “As a matter of fact, I just can’t imagine Elena being involved. 

“For a second, I thought Tiffany was spinning lies but there was no reason she wouldn’t sell out Elena to save her own skin. It didn’t seem like she was lying. As for Elena… I’ve looked at it from all angles, but she doesn’t look like the culprit.” 

She was such a gentle and meek lady. She lived a sheltered life and did not handle stress well. So, how could she have done such a thing? 

With that said, Elena’s expression had clearly betrayed her and confirmed that she was lying when Maia brought up Tiffany. 

“My men are watching Tiffany. All we can do now is wait for Elena to take action.” 

Maia turned to look at him. “Did you plan for this already? Are you waiting to see if Elena would contact Tiffany after I tried to probe her by letting her know that I ran into Tiffany at the Horizon Awards? Is that how you planned to find out if she was lying to me?” 

“Bingo.” 

Maia was stunned for a few seconds. She had to give it to him. That was meticulous and well thought out. He truly lived up to the name of the man who stood on top of the business industry. 

Cedric felt her gaze as well as her admiration for him. Chuckling, he pinched her chin lightly, ” I don’t like it, Maia.” 

She came back to her senses. “Huh?” 

“I don’t like you looking at me admiringly.”

He leaned in closer and wrapped his hand around her waist to prevent her from stepping back. 

“I’d love it if you could look at me lovingly.” He stared at her with his deep gaze. 

Maia was aware that she could not turn away, but her heart could not help but pound when she met his gaze. This is the kind of powerful hold he had on her. 

“We’re talking about a serious matter. Don’t try to…” She couldn’t turn away. In fact, she was

Fischer was sitting in the driver’s seat. He covered his ears throughout their conversation. He did not hear a single thing. Nothing at all.

Maia headed into the winery. She smiled when she saw Errol and Elena together. “I’ll take my leave now. Call me if you guys need anything.” 

Both of them nodded at her. Then, he signed, “Can’t wait to leave now that Cedric is here, can you?” 

Maia looked at his mocking smile and said, “If you have time to mock me, then maybe you should think about what you’re going to say to Hope.” 

Errol held his forehead with worry. She burst into laughter when she saw his reaction. Elena laughed as well and gave her a thumbs up. 

At that moment, Maia’s phone rang.
