Chapter 339 Wife Over Work? 

Errol was puzzled. He signed, “What are you laughing at, Maia?” 

“Do you know Hope hates photoshoots the most? She’s a big star in Starlight Entertainment now. I don’t have the guts to take this job on her behalf. Here. I’ll give you her contact details so you can ask her yourself. I’m fine with it as long as she’s fine.” 

“Come on, Maia. Hope and I…” 

Errol was not as close to Hope as Maia was. They shared a different mother. Things were quite awkward between them. That was why he wanted to confirm the endorsement through Maia. After all, Hope worked for her. Little did he know that Maia would put the ball back in his court 

“You guys are siblings. I know that.” Maia smiled, looked at him, and patted his shoulder, “Go ahead and ask her yourself, Errol.” 

In fact, Maia was trying to bring them closer. Someone had to take the first step. If Errol could not do it, they would stay distant. How was he not seeing this? 

Errol held his forehead. “You’re mean, Maia! Did you pick that up from Cedric?” 

She pretended to be considering it seriously and nodded. “That’s certainly possible.” 

Errol was stunned by what she said and asked curiously, “How are things between you and Cedric now, Maia? Is he going to be my brother–in–law again soon?” 

“I can make that happen anytime as long as Maia is willing.” 

Out of nowhere, they could hear a cold, deep voice. Maia raised her head and saw him clad in a business suit, walking down the hallway. It was his usual attire, but it made him look less distant than usual. It was probably because he picked a blue necktie that neutralized his cold demeanor. 

Looking at his necktie reminded Maia of the night he ripped it away with one hand. His fingers were so long and slender that it made every movement of his seductively reckless. She blushed at the thought. 

“Why are you blushing, Maia?” Errol put her on the spot outright and pushed her to Cedric lightly. Then, he took off with Elena in tow. Just like that, Maia and Cedric were left alone in the hallway. 

“What are you doing here?” Maia was surprised to see him here. He took a few steps forward, pulled her into his arm, and said softly, “I’m here to pick you up, honey.” 

Like he has said yesterday, he would pick her up after work today. 

“It’s still too early for that. In fact, I haven’t even gone to my company.” 

“I didn’t go to mine either. How about we skip work together today?” 

Stunned for a few seconds, Maia widened her eyes, “S–Skip work?”

Cedric smiled faintly, leaned in, pressed his nose against hers, and said, “You’re not leaving my bed unless it’s an emergency.” 

Maia’s face was slightly flushed to begin with. Now, it was a full–on blush. She looked like an enticing apple that was ripe for the picking. 

How was his wife this adorable? 

She made her way to the scene swiftly and decisively not long ago. Then, she took care of business in a domineering manner. However, she looked completely different before him now. She was charming and radiant. 

He had seen her when she tolerated a lot of stuff and remained gentle and tender because she loved him. He had also seen her when she improved herself in the name of love and became all -powerful. Now, he witnessed her transformation into a charming, beautiful lady because she 

loved him. 

How did she manage to make him love her with every fiber of his being? 

At the next moment, he pressed his lips on hers longingly. 

“I can finally say I understand how a man feels when he’d rather stay with his loving wife than work on his career.” 

“Cedric…” Maia was blushing. Her heart was racing too. 

He always had such an intense gaze, more so when she was so close to him. She pursed her lips, tried hard to tear her eyes away from him, and looked at their surroundings. 

“We’re in public!” She was worried he would do something unseemly. The light k*ss had given her a shock just now. 

Cedric was amused to see her in this state. He knew that there was a time and place for everything. He had no intention or interest of putting on a show for everyone to see. He merely wanted to tease her a little. Her panicked, lowered gaze and her blushing face were 

rewarding enough. 

“Let’s go.” Cedric took her hand in his.

“Cloud Nine Residences.” 

That threw her completely. “Why are we going there?” 

“You’re moving.” 

“Moving?” Stunned, she asked, “I didn’t say anything about moving!” 

“Really?” He stopped, turned, and looked at her, “Are you sure you can bear to let your husband stay in an empty room and lose sleep all by himself?” 

So that was what he was plotting! He might have acted mischievously and said something about a man choosing his wife over work when, in fact, he planned to move her stuff to his place all along! 

“So, this is your plan!” 

He smiled impishly, “Hmmm?” 

Maia said at once, “We’re not married yet. What right do I have to stay at Prismara Hill?” 

“You can stay there because…” He said slowly and looked at her, “I love you.” 

He loved her. That was it. 

“Is that reason good enough?” 

Maia looked at him and shook her head playfully, “Not quite.” 

“What needs to be done? Tell me. I’ll see it done.” 

She pondered and poked at his chest, “That’s up to you to figure out!” 

With that, she took off delightfully. 

He watched as she left and could not help but laugh.
