Goldie was feeling strange and uneasy. It was a feeling she could not put into words, and she began to search for Sheila, but the latter was nowhere to be found.
Somehow, this strange feeling seemed to be leading her somewhere, and it was as if she had lost control of herself.
It was only when she reached the garden that she felt a little bit at ease. However, she was surprised to see two people engaged in a disgusting k*ss, as if they were chewing each other’s mouths. It was night, but there were still some empty rooms since the event was being held in a hotel.
The woman’s dress was rolled up to the top, with her thighs exposed, and the man’s fingers were in her intimate parts. Goldie was disgusted. They could have gotten a room to quench their burning desire instead of doing this.
About to turn away, the man pulled away, turned around, and stared into her eyes, “mate.”
Tom had only pulled away because he felt a bond. It was the reason he decided to ch*ck his environment. For the past years, he had waited, but he was never opportune to feel it until he fell in love with Charlotte and forgot all about it.
His mate was stunning with blonde hair like the morning sunlight, but her eyes were dark as she glared at him with disgust.
Goldie recalled Charlotte, disappointment filling her chest. It was because of this woman that Alpha Nick treated Sheila so poorly.
“You. Are you not Alpha Nick’s mate?” She asked, sounding accusing.
It hurt so bad that after waiting for this long, her mate turned out to be a jerk. Charlotte was hiding her face, afraid that Goldie would take pictures or blow the trumpet of her evil deeds.
If that happened, Alpha Nick would reject her. As she thought about what to do, she was surprised to hear some cold words from Goldie instead.
“I, Goldie Warner, reject you as my mate.”
She didn’t care what cursed name he had, but she was sure that as soon as he accepted the rejection, the bond

would be broken. If this disgusting man was her mate, then she did not want to be mated to anyone.
She would rather die unmated. Tom did not hesitate and replied, “I, Thomas Addy, accept your rejection.”
Her beauty had almost blinded him, but knowing what she saw and the fact that he was already in love with another woman, it was indeed the right thing to do, and his mate made it easy for him.
He had no idea who she even was. Pain shot through both their hearts incredulously as Goldie balled her hands, as if trying to numb the pain from the broken bond. She didn’t want to show any weakness at the sight of the shameless couple and spat,
“I can’t believe Alpha Nick left his Luna for a disgusting thing like you. I wish he knew the kind of mate you are.”
Charlotte was afraid that she was going to tell Alpha Nick, tugging on Tom’s sleeve. “She will tell on us.”

By the time the realization hit both of them that they hadn’t gotten the money yet and their secrets might be exposed, Goldie was already gone before they could try to do anything to her.
Charlotte panicked, regaining her senses that Sheila was around as the queen of the event with all the men vying for her attention.
Alpha Nick must be equally mesmerized by her beauty. Charlotte felt foolish to not have created a good excuse and remained by Nick’s side, rather than going to find Tom when she knew something like this would happen.
She somehow couldn’t carry all the blame as her b*dy craved it. Alpha Nick wasn’t giving it to her, but her b*dy. demanded it. Only he could be blamed for not completing the mate bond, but for now, she needed to be by his side to fake some explanations for him.
“Nick,” she began to look around worriedly. Tom’s heart sank. Before he uttered a word, she was already strutting to the auditorium, saying, “I have to find him. I need to face him and explain. You should leave until things settle.”
Tom caught her in his arms and said coldly to her, “I just rejected my mate for you. If you make me upset, I won’t mind exposing you to have you back with me.”
Charlotte shivered. Tom was going to make things hard for her. It wasn’t as if he was ready to back down. Charlotte was at a loss for words. If she wasn’t careful, she would lose her mate entirely.
She had to play along before finding a way to eliminate Tom; that would be the only way to have back her sanity

and get Nick to mark and mate with her. When she went back to the auditorium, Nick was nowhere to be found, and neither was Sheila.
Alpha Ansaldo was also looking everywhere for Sheila, seeming frustrated and afraid as he went to find Goldie.
“I can’t find Sherry. Have you seen her?”
Goldie, whose mood was completely sore, took time to integrate his words. “You promised to watch over her. Let me check the ladies‘ room.”
“I’m coming with you,” Alpha Ansaldo said. The two went around, but there was no sign of Sheila. They hadn’t brought b*dyguards, as Sheila feared their presence would expose her identity.
After all Alpha Ansaldo was a strong Alpha, capable of protecting her. After all the search and unable to find Sheila, Goldie dialed her number, but it was switched off. She recalled that before the start of the event, Sheila had switched off her phone to prevent any disturbance during the event.
In the end, Goldie only felt that Sheila must have left, but that was strange. Sheila would never act impulsively and leave without informing anyone.
The next day, Sheila woke up feeling sore. Even if she had been injured in a war, she should have healed by now, but this soreness was solely between her thighs. Beside her was a man. A familiar one.
Her heart rate aggravated, and she felt her stomach hot, her breath ceasing when she saw his face, her knees giving in to weakness. “Alpha Nick?” She murmured.
