Chapter 25 Mr. Eric Caught A Cold
In a state of panic, Eileen rushed back to the room, feeling utterly bewildered.
She slammed the door shut and locked it securely, pressing her whole b*dy against it. Her trembling hands kept wiping her l*ps, as though she had touched something unclean.
Although Eileen had initiated her first k*ss with Eric while intoxicated, she later k*ssed him in
secret.
Eric forcefully pushed her away, leaving an unforgettable expression of extreme disgust on
his face.
However, Eileen had changed. She wanted nothing to do with him anymore-feeling nauseated and as if countless flies had settled on her.
She kept rubbing her l*ps until they turned red, swollen, and numb, not feeling any pain.
She could not explain why she had become so infatuated with Eric, as it was entirely improbable under normal circumstances. Yet, since Eric was also drunk, she could not herself to doubt him.

Eileen tried to console herself, considering it just an accident that shouldn’t be taken to heart. However, lying in bed, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep, as Eric’s face completely occupied her thoughts.

Regarding the Swan family, Eric was determined to eliminate Will if he could not use Eileen as his pawn.
After eating the noodles, Eric feels less drunk and his stomach discomfort subsided. He lit a cigarette, something he rarely did, except for entertainment purposes.
As time pa*sed, Eileen’s mind remained clear. Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door.
Startled, Eileen hid under the quilt and remained silent. She knew that it was Eric because it was 2 a.m. Sharon went home and Will was not present, leaving her alone in the house. She decided to pretend she did not hear anything and remained quiet.
“Eileen, are you asleep?”
Eileen remained silent.
In addition to the sound of knocking on the door, Eileen’s heart was pounding with the resolve never to fall into Eric’s charming trap again.
After some time, the knocking stopped, and Eric eventually left.
It took Eileen a while before she felt comfortable enough to move.
The next day, Eileen woke up quite late as she had fallen asleep around three or four in the morning.
In the morning, she changed into a nightgown and yawned as she made her way downstairs.
“Sharon, what’s for breakfast?”
Sharon was busy in the kitchen and replied, “Mr. Eric caught a cold, so I prepared some porridge for him. I’ll serve it to him first, and there’s some left in the pot for you to help yourself.”
Eileen was taken aback, “How could he get sick when he seemed perfectly fine yesterday?”
“It’s partly my fault. I thought Mr. Eric had left, so I put away his blanket to prevent it from getting dirty. As Sharon was about to serve the porridge, she suddenly remembered. something. “Oh, I almost forgot. We’ve run out of medicine. I need to buy some.”
“Eileen, do you have time? Can you please bring it to Mr. Eric for me?”
“No problem, Sharon. I’ll take care of it. You can buy the medicine, Eileen replied, feeling at little guilty.

Eric’s illness seemed to be connected to her somehow.
Eileen carried the porridge upstairs, but she did not eat any herself.
When she reached Eric’s room on the upper floor, she knocked on his door.
“Eric, are you awake?”
A coughing sound came from inside the room. “Cough, cough, cough… come in, the door is unlocked.”
Eileen entered the room, but to her surprise, she found Gavin there with Eric.
Eric closed a document and said, “Today’s meeting will be postponed until later…. I’ll follow up on this project.”
“That’s all for now. You can go back to the company and call me if you need anything.”
“Okay, Mr. Snow,” Gavin acknowledged, picking up his briefcase and nodding at Eileen as a form of greeting.
“Eileen? Where’s Sharon?”
“She went out to buy medicine for you.”
After Gavin left, Eileen placed the porridge on the bedside table and said, “Eric, you’re sick. so you should take it easy and eat something first!”
“Leave it here,” Eric said, his gaze fixed on the computer screen, fully immersed in his work. When a man was focused on his tasks, there was an allure to his intensity.
Eileen knew him well enough to understand that once he was focused on work, he would lose track of time. By the time he remembers the porridge, it would have gone cold.
In the past, she might have taken the computer away and insisted he ate, but not this time. She has decided not to care anymore.
“Eric, remember to eat. I’ll revise my subjects then.”
“Okay, you can ask me if you have any questions.
Eileen nodded and left the room, closing the door gently so as not to disturb him.
Instead of revising. Eileen went downstairs to watch TV.
Glancing at the clock, it was already past noon.

It Will did not return by midnight, it meant he had other matters to attend to and would not be coming back today.
Without him around, Eileen felt more at ease.
Her injuries had scabbed over, but the internal ones still hurt whenever she moved too much.
After falling on Eric yesterday, she initially felt better, but now the pain seemed to have intensified.
Eileen took a couple of painkillers, and that eased her discomfort.
At that moment, her phone chimed with a familiar text message notification-Jasper.
Jasper texted, “Does it still hurt? What are you up to?”
Eileen sl*pped on her sl*ppers and, replied as she was pouring water, “It’s almost healed, I’m watching a TV show. And you? Have you taken your medicine on time? The weather is nice. today. Try going out for a walk if you can.”
Jasper replied, “Will you come with me?”
Eileen agreed, “Sure! Right now?”
Jasper continued, “Not today, I’m not at home. I have a surprise for you the next time we
meet.”
Eileen was slightly delighted, “Alright, then I’ll look forward to it…”
Jasper did not respond further, and Eileen put away her phone.
In the second-floor room, Eric sat on the bed, staring at the TV with a clouded expression, emitting an aura of coldness that filled the entire room.
