After putting her book aside, she stood up and went to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she saw milk inside. She was about to pour a gla*s when she changed her mind and took a cup hot water.
Outside the large gla*s window, there were floating lanterns from an unknown source.
Recalling that there seemed to be one in the backyard warehouse, she stealthily made her way there when no one was paying attention.
In a box, she found the lantern and some leftover fireworks from last year.
Exiting the warehouse with dust on her, Eileen placed the box on the ground.
Taking out a lighter, she lit the lantern, but the lighter failed to ignite it despite multiple attempts.
“Is it useless?” Eileen shook it.
Suddenly, a metal lighter appeared from the side. Startled, she dropped the sky lantern. stepping back to create some distance as she saw him.

Carefully, Eileen reached out to take the lighter from his hand.
Suddenly, he grabbed her and tugged her forward. Eileen stumbled backward, pressed against his burning ch*st in an ambiguous posture.

Eileen’s heart pounded, unsure how to react. She stayed still, not daring to move.
As they helped each other, Eric used the lighter to light up the wick in the lantern.
The reflection of the fire danced in his eyes. They watched as the heat caused the lantern to expand. Once the heat was sufficient, they watched as the lantern soared into the sky.
“Won’t you make a wish?” His voice was deep and pleasant.
Eileen replied, “I wish that from now on, you will stay away from me.”
Eric nodded. “This wish probably won’t come true.”
“Can
you let go now? I want to go to bed!”
“Are you hinting at me, Eileen?”
Eileen’s heart skipped a beat. Through gritted teeth, she said, “Could you stop thinking about these dirty things all the time? Be careful not to let Vera see us.”
