Chapter 109 Not Going To Work
Paola revealed the truth to her. It turned out that the person who had saved her from the sea wasn’t Eric, but Elm?
Eileen was well aware of how much Elm despised her. Whenever she was bullied at school, he was always the first one to target her.
That’s why she had to switch cla*ses.
If that was really the case, then Elm’s strange comments to her before would make sense. No wonder…
Paola soon left, leaving only Eileen and Hector behind.
It wasn’t until a female police officer emerged from the detention room that Eileen was called in as well.
Hector, handcuffed, sat across from her. The policewoman sternly began, “Start talking. Why did
you resort to violence?”

It seemed as if all of Eileen’s strength had been drained from her b*dy.
When Mary came to pick her up, Eileen seemed as if her soul had been sucked out, leaving only an empty shell. She had no idea how she left the police station.
Once she arrived home, the scolding voice of Will echoed in her ears, but she didn’t take in a single word. She stumbled back into her own room, a room dark as pitch without the lights
Eileen, in a daze, didn’t even bother to take off her clothes before she crawled directly into bed. The balcony window was still open, letting in the chilly wind.
That night, all that filled Eileen’s mind were the hysterical words Hector had said to her!
Was it really her fault?
She clearly hadn’t done anything wrong. She was just doing what she believed was right.
She never thought of taking away someone else’s belongings.
She simply wanted to rely on her own efforts to achieve what she desired.
Inside, it felt as if a wall had suddenly collapsed.
Eileen was injured, and naturally, Will couldn’t pretend not to see it. He couldn’t hide it from him either.
It was now the weekend.
The people from the police station came knocking on the door.
At the moment, Eileen couldn’t hide it even if she wanted to.

Elsie came by to see her, reaching out to touch her forehead. “Did you leave the window open last night?”

I thought she might be sick, and alas, she really is,” Mary said, pulling a thermometer from her pocket. “Her temperature is so low. Should we call a doctor to come and see her, Ms. Field?”
Elsie replied, “Wait a moment. First, prepare a few hot packs for her, cover her hands and
feet, then add another layer of blanket for her. Then, set the air conditioning to twenty-eight degrees. That should be fine. Don’t make it too hot.”
“All right, I’ll go
now.”
Mary walked out, muttering to herself, “What on earth happened? Something’s been off since she came back last night, and now she’s sick. Oh dear, I hope she hasn’t run into any trouble again.”

“Last night, at the police station?” His tone was icy.
Mary nodded, finding the man too intimidating to hide anything from. She spilled everything about the events of the previous night to him.

Elsie opened the lid, dabbed a bit with her index finger, and applied it to the scar on Eileen’s arm. “She’s precious-her b*dy cannot have a single scar. Will has been relying on her for a long time because the Swan family’s future position in Hulbury depends on her!”
Eric asked, “What are you trying to say?”
Elsie’s red l*ps curved upward. “Don’t you know better than I do? She is involved with the Smith family’s heir; Will has known about it for a while. “Give it to me.”
Elsie took it from her hands and personally tucked it into the quilt.
