Chapter 101 Your Family Is Quite Strict
Eileen had already left Skyline Building. At this hour, there were hardly any buses around. Standing in front of the bus stop sign, she stomped her feet to ward off the cold. The approaching bus came to a halt before the traffic lights at the zebra crossing.
it was currently rush hour in Hulbury, and the streets were somewhat congested.
Just as she was about to stand up and search through her bag for change, she caught sight of a black car stopping in front of her from the corner of her eye. Eileen looked up to see the car window rolling down, revealing a handsome face with deep-set features. The man coldly said, “Get in!”
Why isn’t Yvette in the car?

After thinking for a few seconds, Eileen decided to sit in the back seat. She closed the car door. Being alone with him in the car always created a somewhat oppressive atmosphere.
“How did you come to know Yvette?” he asked her, looking through the rearview mirror.
Eileen said in a soft voice, “She has changed cla*ses. She is now in the same cla*s as me.”
He didn’t say anything more. The car turned around and drove back to the front of the building. Yvette’s figure quickly appeared. She was wearing a thin dress and black leggings. In such cold weather, she couldn’t bear it, yet Yvette was truly enduring.
Her constitution was naturally cold, so when winter came, it was normal for her hands and feet to be icy cold.
Yvette quickly ran over, opened the pa*senger side door, and swiftly got in. “I was waiting for you in the office. How did you come down so quickly?”
“What should we eat?” While gripping the steering wheel, Eric was driving attentively, not responding to her question.
Yvette had tasted every delicacy in the world, and she was already tired of her favorite restaurants. Suddenly, she found herself at a loss for what to eat next.
After all, as long as I’m going out with the person I like, any place will do.
“Eileen, what would you like to eat? Do you have any good restaurant recommendations?” She tossed this challenging question to Eileen.
A momentarily dazed Eileen, upon hearing the voice, responded, “Let’s go to Blissorzo.”
“Blissorzo? Where is this restaurant? How come I’ve never heard of it? Why don’t we go for some crab instead? We can have some wine to keep ourselves warm. I’m freezing!”
Eric stated, “Address.”
Yvette mentioned a place name.
“Mr. Snow, could you be a gentleman and lend me your coat? I’m a bit cold.”
Eric didn’t agree, instead, he said, “Eileen, there’s a blanket in the spare box in the car. Get it for her.”
Yvette was at a loss for words with him. Her intentions were already so blatantly clear. Was he incapable of understanding human language?
Fifteen minutes later…
They quickly arrived at the seafood restaurant that Yvette had mentioned. The decor was distinctly Japriumian, and in addition to crab, they served a variety of other seafood dishes. As soon as they walked in, they were greeted by a warm breeze.
She had heard of this restaurant before. It was quite pricey, but the food was indeed delicious. Typically, a reservation needed to be made a week in advance.
Yvette was no ordinary person. She was the heiress being groomed by the Friedman family. The Friedman family owned several companies and had made substantial investments in the catering industry, including this one. Plus, she was a regular there, so there was no one who didn’t know her.
A server quickly approached, “Ms. Friedman, welcome! Are you dining with your friends this time?”
“Three of us. Please arrange a private room for us.”
“All right, please follow me this way,”
Eileen walked at the back, leaving space for them. The waiter opened the door to reveal a room with woven mats. With underfloor heating, it was essentially impossible to feel cold while sitting.
Eileen took off her scarf from around her neck and hung it on the coat rack by the door. “Go ahead and order some food! I need to use the restroom.”
“All right, off you go!” Yvette, holding the menu, had already moved next to Eric. “Let’s order together. What do you feel like eating? I won’t be polite this time.”
Eric responded, “As you wish.”
In the midst of their conversation, Yvette had quietly taken a seat next to Eric. She ordered a few of their usual set meals, saying, “Let’s just have these for now. We can order more when she
gets
back.”
Eileen returned from the restroom, noticing that each private room had its own dedicated waiter. She hadn’t ordered yet, so the waiter handed her a menu at the door. Eileen wasn’t sure what to eat. She wasn’t particularly fond of seafood, so she ordered some vegetarian spaghetti. Also, she wasn’t a big eater.
Lately, she hadn’t had much of an appetite, yet her weight hadn’t decreased.
Upon entering the room, she sat down across from the duo. The table wasn’t particularly large; a simple stretch of the leg could reach the other person.
In front of her, a steaming cup of rose tea was brewed. Eileen held the gla*s teacup in her hands, warming her hands as they were a bit cold from just being washed.
Yvette was chatting away with Eric, her enthusiasm quite evident. Her voice filled the entire private room.
Occasionally, Eileen would respond to Yvette’s words. That was just her nature, dull and uninteresting. Most of the time, she preferred to be alone, gazing out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the night sky. The clouds were thick, covering the canopy of the sky, and the weather was so gloomy that it seemed like it could snow at any moment.
“It’s Christmas tomorrow, Eileen… Do you have any plans?”
Eileen turned her head, accidentally meeting Eric’s gaze. She quickly looked
She quickly looked away, saying, “There’s nothing going on. If I don’t have evening self-study, I still have to attend another extracurricular cla*s.”
“I see! Around what time do you usually finish cla*s?”
Eileen replied, “Around nine o’clock. I’ll be home by ten.”
“Is it tough? Do you even have time to do your own things?”
“I’m doing well,” Eileen replied, accompanied by a faint smile. Even if she didn’t have time. for anything else, it didn’t bother her. Staying busy was her only way to distract herself.
“Christmas is tomorrow. Our cla*s organizes a Christmas party every year, and we exchange greeting cards. You should come and join us.”
Eileen lowered her head to gaze at the blooming rose tea in her cup. “No, I can’t miss my extracurricular cla*s. Otherwise, I won’t be able to catch up. I haven’t attended for several days, so my father will scold me.”
“Your family is quite strict.”
Yvette had initially intended to invite Eileen, but after hearing her response, she remained silent.
In truth, Eileen felt envious of Yvette. Apart from the unavoidable responsibilities she carried, such as taking over the family business, there seemed to be nothing else holding her back. Yvette had a harmonious family and loving parents who supported her in all her endeavors. She could live freely and unrestrained, resembling a princess from a television show.
Eileen didn’t eat much during the meal. She also didn’t enjoy eating crabs, finding them too troublesome to deal with.
Yvette sipped on some wine infused with mulling spices. The aroma was rich and fragrant, the sweetness mild, and the alcohol content not too high. However, it was easy to get tipsy after consuming it.
Yvette was clearly drunk, leaning heavily against Eric and swaying slightly. Eileen had only had a little to drink and felt a bit dizzy, but fortunately, she remained sober.
Upon leaving, Eileen suddenly found herself in the pa*senger seat. By the time she realized what had happened, it was too late; the car door was already locked…
“Um, where’s Yvette?” she asked.
