Chapter 786 Dreams and Reality
“What did you dream about?”
Suddenly grabbed by Charlotte, Joe didn’t pull away. Instead, he held her
hand.
Habit is indeed a scary thing.
When she was first found, Charlotte was always resistant to Joe’s touch, let
alone holding hands.
But now, facing Joe’s spontaneous hand-holding, she had gotten used to it.
She couldn’t even muster the will to resist.
“I dreamed that I was locked in a villa, and Smollett was walking towards me
with a needle…”
The dream was too realistic, which is why she woke up so abruptly.
Upon hearing the word “villa,” Joe immediately thought of the villa that
Smollett had stayed in Halcyonland.
He furrowed his brows and took out a piece of paper and a pen, “Can you
draw that villa for me?”
Charlotte was a bit puzzled, but seeing Joe’s serious and solemn expression,
she didn’t think much about it and started drawing with the pen and paper he
handed her.
Clearly, even though she had lost her memory, Charlotte’s muscle memory for
drawing was still intact. After a few rusty strokes, a vividly detailed villa
appeared under her pen.
Seeing the villa, Joe’s face turned extremely grim.
That’s because the drawing of the villa by Charlotte was very similar to the
image that Erik had shown him earlier.
He was now almost certain that the person who had harmed Charlotte was
Smollett.
Thinking that he had allowed Smollett to be around Charlotte for a few days,
Joe’s face almost turned stormy.
“Erik found this villa,” Joe thought for a moment and shared the information
Erik had found a few days ago with Charlotte.
Charlotte fell silent.
She had never imagined that everything in her dream could actually be found
in reality.
“I will have someone investigate that villa immediately…” Joe frowned and
contacted Sharon.
Upon learning that the villa existed, Charlotte became very quiet as if
contemplating something.
Seeing her silent profile, Joe felt as if an invisible hand was tightly gripping his
heart, making him extremely uncomfortable.
“Let’s go on a date,” Joe blurted out.
“What?” Charlotte looked at Joe in confusion, not expecting him to change
the subject so abruptly.
Joe felt suddenly enlightened after blurting it out.
“Let’s go on a date,” Joe looked seriously at Charlotte, “Didn’t Dorothy say to
keep you happy? A date should make you happy, right?”
Charlotte blinked.
Although that’s true, wasn’t the topic shifting too quickly?
But Joe was a man of action.
Almost immediately, he had Mrs. River pack up Charlotte’s luggage, and the
two headed straight for the airport.
“We’re just leaving like this!” Charlotte looked at Joe in shock, “What about
Smollett?”
“There’s no need to let him hinder us. Right now, the one who should be
worried is him, not us,” Joe was quite calm. They could easily make up an
excuse.
Seeing his resolute expression, Charlotte didn’t say anything further.
“But…”
Once on the private jet, Charlotte curiously looked at Joe and quietly asked,
“Have we been on a date before?”
