I raised my eyebrows slightly, leaning in to him and asked, “No girlfriend, could it be that there’s someone you like?”
Under my intense questioning, his overly handsome face flushed a rare shade of red. He furrowed his brows and looked at me, saying, “No.”
Clearly, this statement was not sincere.
I chuckled and said, “Let me guess, Olivia?”
He furrowed his brows, clearly not pleased, but still said indifferently, “Tabatha, have you finished your work? You seem to have so much free time to gossip about other people’s private lives?”
Ignoring his words, I pretended to ponder and said, “Not Olivia? Then who? Alexander, you’re not being straightforward. You have someone you like but you don’t tell us. I’ll ask my mom when I get home tonight. If you don’t tell me, I’ll let her nag you.”
He knew his mother’s nagging best. For a moment, he looked at met with a bitter face and said, “No, where did you get the idea that I have someone I like? I’ve only been back for a few days, do you think I went there to find someone I like so quickly?”
