After the conversation ended, I thought he was going to get up and leave. Unexpectedly, he suddenly became serious, furrowed his brows and looked at me, asking, “Did the police bother you?”
There was a subtle chill in his words.
I was taken aback, shaking my head, not understanding why he suddenly asked this. I quickly said, “No, I…” I noticed that he had caught a glimpse of the red and swollen mark on my wrist from being kidnapped yesterday, he must have misunderstood.
Upon seeing this, I quickly explained. “It has nothing to do with the police, it was an accident that happened yesterday, thank you for your concern, Mr. Monroe.”

I nodded with a smile, and stood up to see him off.
Watching him leave, I couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. To be honest, I was somewhat puzzled by Daniel. It was just a collaboration for him, even with Sebastian’s involvement, there was no need for him to come to the police station to talk to me.
