I couldn’t explain it to him clearly for a while.
Weiwei took a slight breath and said, “Ashley reported it. The police found Henry’s b*dy. They are still investigating.”
“I’m still in Dracview, unable to rush back. What are your plans for the Conner Group?” He asked bluntly.
I knew that when this news broke out, the already precarious Conner Group was almost unable to withstand it, let alone now even the Hinton Group was implicated.
Taking a breath, I said somewhat dejectedly, “I don’t know either.”
Alexander sighed, his helplessness audible even over the phone, “This happened too suddenly. Never mind, I’ll call Cory to arrange for public relations, you cooperate with the police investigation as soon as possible on your end.” He paused for a moment, then asked
suspiciously, “By rights, you should be at the police station now, and your phone should have been confiscated. How can you still answer my call? So, where are you?”
“The Hinton family’s old house!” I exclaimed, gradually realizing the problem.

I didn’t have time to ask more, my phone rang. It was Captain Lucas calling. As soon as I answered the call, an anxious voice came from Captain Lucas, “Ms. Conner, where are you now?”
Hearing his voice, I guessed that something must have happened at the police station as well. I quickly said, “I’m on my way to the police station, Captain Lucas. Is the police station also surrounded by reporters?”
He should have said, “Well, there are journalists outside making a fuss right now, accusing us of collusion between government and business, and you of getting away with murder and hiding bodies. They are demanding an explanation from our police station. How soon can you get here? It’s urgent. If the journalists confirm that you are not at the police station now, I’m afraid this news will blow up completely. By then, my position, along with those above me, might be in jeopardy.”
Knowing that he was telling the truth, I quickly spoke up, “Walter and I will hurry over as soon as possible, Captain Lucas. Could you please ask someone to delay a bit longer? I’m really sorry for causing you such a big trouble.”
Captain Lucas sighed slightly, helplessly saying, “No one could have anticipated things would come to this point. You had an incident during the day, no one expected things to escalate so quickly.”

After hanging up the phone, Walter had already sailed the boat quite a
distance away from the old house.
