Exposing the Charade of Deep Affection by Y.Flash Chapter 222

Chapter 222 Always Feeling Guilty

For a moment, Gianna’s face stiffened and turned red, a mix of grievance and embarra*sment interwoven. Several expressions converged, distorting her face.

Walter didn’t look at her, but instead glanced at me sideways, his dark eyes challenging, “It’s cold outside, go back inside.”

Saying so, he/she reached out to pull me away.

I dodged, took a step back to distance myself from him, ignored his somewhat stiff expression, glanced at the embarra*sed Gianna, didn’t say much, and turned to leave.

Footsteps sounded behind me, I knew it was Walter, but I didn’t care.

The sky had already darkened, and the Hinton family’s dinner was ready. Dale came over to see me and Walter together. He said, “Mr. Hinton, Mrs. Hinton, dinner is ready in the dining room. The old lady asked you to come over.”

I nodded, hummed in agreement, and didn’t say much.

Walter, however, responded, “Someone fell into the water in the backyard, Dale, you arrange for someone to go ch*ck it out.” He said this with an air of nonchalance.

Dale’s face changed immediately, “Fell into the water? Who? Is the person okay?”

Walter said indifferently, “The pond is not deep, it won’t kill you.”

Dale breathed a sigh of relief, gave a slight nod, and then jogged

towards the backyard.

I continued to walk towards the restaurant alone, not expecting my wrist to be grabbed. I frowned and looked back, meeting Walter’s handsome gaze. He was looking at me, his expression gentle and calm, his voice low and restrained, “Go change your coat.”

Upon his reminder, I looked down at my coat. I had just pulled Gianna and some water had splashed on me. It wasn’t easy to notice unless you looked closely.

I had originally intended to ignore it, but now that he had specifically brought it up, I pursed my l*ps and had no choice but to go into the side room to change my coat.

When I came out of the room, I saw Walter still waiting outside. I was slightly taken aback, but didn’t say much. I figured he was probably putting on a show in front of the old lady, so he was specifically waiting for me here.

I walked up to him, hesitated for a moment, and finally said, “We should tell grandma about our divorce as soon as possible.” The longer some things are delayed, the harder they become to deal with later.

He lowered his gaze at me, his handsome brows slightly furrowed as he said, “Wait until grandma’s condition improves.”

After all, it involved the elderly’s physical condition, I didn’t say much, just nodded slightly.

Walking ahead and behind him towards the restaurant, following him, inevitably, I caught a glimpse of the bandaged area on the back of his head and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you okay with your injury?”

He stopped in his tracks, turned around to look at me, his handsome eyebrows raised, “Are you sure this injury has nothing to do with you?”

Caught off guard by his sudden questioning, I panicked for a few seconds before calming myself down. Keeping a straight face, I said, “If you suspect that I hurt you, I can provide you with the location where you were meddling last night. You can have someone look around for surveillance cameras, and ch*ck the footage yourself to see how you got hurt.”

Of course, that narrow alley, remote and gloomy, couldn’t possibly have surveillance. I didn’t believe he could find any substantial evidence to prove that the injury on the back of his head was caused by

He slightly squinted his dark pupils, sized me up for a moment, didn’t say much, then turned around and continued to walk forward.

Loriginally thought he would continue to question me, and I was mentally prepared to deal with him. Unexpectedly, he just left.

Following behind him, I couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty.

But the lie had already been told, and it was impossible for me to admit it voluntarily. I had no choice but to follow him with a stiff upper l*p.

In the old house restaurant, quite a few people had gradually taken their seats. I roughly scanned the room, but didn’t see William and Emma, which made me a bit worried if something had happened to them.

But it wasn’t appropriate to ask someone in detail, so he just walked over to Olivia and asked softly, “Hasn’t the elder brother and his wife arrived yet?”

Olivia shifted over to make room for me to sit down, looked around and said, “I don’t know, I just got here too, probably will arrive soon.”

I grunted in acknowledgement, sat down, and Walter followed suit,

setting down next to me

Olivia leaned towards me, whispering. “Tabatha, where has Alexander been lately? I can’t get in touch with him”

thought Alexander had mentioned to Olivia about his trip to Dracview When she suddenly asked about it. I was taken aback arid said. “Didn’t he tell you where he was going
