Chapter 17 Reception Dinner 

“It’s just a commercial marriage. As long as you don’t disturb each other, it’s okay to get married,” 

Levi told the truth. 

“You are too utilitarian. I can’t do that. 

“My dream wife should be a glamorous beauty. The kind that makes me fall in love with her at first sight. She has a perfect appearance, a high intelligence quotient, and an overwhelming aura. This kind of woman is my destined partner.” 

Maverick waved his hand. “You are not me, 

and you 

don’t understand this.” 

Levi heard Maverick’s words and stopped saying anything. He brought the topic back. 

“Can this matter be resolved?” 

Maverick patted his ch*st and guaranteed. “The Myers Group and the Empyrean Group are co–hosting this exhibition. I’ll call Chaim. He will give me a favor.” 

As he spoke, he took his mobile phone and dialed Chaim’s phone number. 

However, after ringing for more than ten seconds, no one answered it. Maverick was confused and dialed again. 

But this time… Chaim rejected the phone call. The meaning of not wanting to talk was obvious. Maverick hung up the phone embarra*sedly. He was a little blushed, feeling ashamed of his promise. 

Levi rarely asked him to help. He promised him but failed to do it. 

He touched his nose and looked embarra*sed. “I guess he is busy now. I’ll hold a reception dinner for you and talk about it later.” 

Levi followed Maverick out of the office. 

He knew that Maverick had been rejected. 

It was very unlikely that Maverick would make it. He could only find a solution from Gianna.

Chaim sat on the Italian leather sofa in a shop that specialized in custom–made gowns for special clients. His whole b*dy exuded a dignified and indifferent aura. 

He rejected the phone call from Maverick and looked up at Gianna, who was letting the designer measure her b*dy size. “Levi is in Dubai. He came to Maverick to intercede with me.” 

When he said this, he paid attention to Gianna’s expression, fearing that she still had some feelings for Levi. 

Gianna’s expression didn’t change at all. She turned around and let the designer continue to measure her waist. “Chaim, let me handle this matter.” 

After saying this, she looked in the mirror. 

In the mirror, her complexion returned to before. Her eyes were bright and full of confidence. Now, she was completely different from the wronged appearance in Rivera Manor. 

Her real side was confident, dazzling, and eye–catching. Men would only affect her to show her brilliance. 

“Baby, I miss you!” 

A cheerful figure rushed over and hugged Gianna. The woman hugged her for a long time.

Gianna heard the voice and knew it was her best friend, Kaylee Perry. Her eyes were full of tears. 

in an instant. 

“I miss you too!” 

Kaylee let go of Gianna. “Humph! You haven’t contacted me for three years, and I just got the news from Thiago that you are divorced. Don’t you think I’m your friend?!” 

Gianna’s eyes turned red. “You are my best friend forever.”

Gianna chose to marry Levi, even agreed to give up her business, and became his secretary on impulse. Kaylee had persuaded her many times and told her that Levi was not the right man for her. She deserved a broader place to show her talent. 

But Gianna was stubborn. She ignored Kaylee’s persuasion and unilaterally closed the stop founded by the two of them.

Kaylee held Gianna’s hand and said angrily, “The one who should be ashamed is Levi! That bastard. He is a blind idiot!

Tears welled up in Gianna’s eyes. They looked at each other and smiled. 

“Don’t cry.” Kaylee thoughtfully took out a tissue to wipe her tears. “Let’s go. I prepared a 

celebration party for you tonight! Let’s celebrate your farewell to the scumbag and come back! You will have a bright future!” 

“Okay!” 

Gianna looked at Chaim, who was patiently waiting for her to finish crying, and tightened Kaylee hand. 

She felt that she was stupid. She gave up so many people who loved her so much for a ruthless 

man. 

Family and friendship… They were more precious than illusory love.
