Chapter 58 A Good Person
“Victor didn’t mean it. He just minderstood you. Don’t take it to heart.*
Somehow, Levi felt frustrated. He caught up with Gianna and grabbed her arm.
Glama forcefully pulled her arm away from Levi and said, “Mr. Rivera, do you think your words are effective? What right do you have to ask me to let it go?*
Levi cast a glance at Kelly and kaylee, who were standing beside Gianna. Seeing the animosity in their eyes as they looked at him, Levi asked, “Can’t you be more gracious? We could have a sincere conversation like friends.”
Gianna coldly smiled and looked into Levi’s eyes with an icy gaze.
“To me, there are only exes who have pa*sed away and no friends who have divorced,” Gianna said.
Although Levi had heard this kind of rejection many times before, he still couldn’t face it nonchalantly. He said, “The apology statement will be issued tomorrow, and I’ll have Victor remove the news from trending later.”
“I don’t need you to pretend to be a good person here. They treated me like this because you condoned it,” Gianna said coldly.
“Me?” Levi frowned, obviously not agreeing with Gianna’s words.
Gianna’s face was full of disappointment and coldness. Her beautiful eyes stared intensely at Levi as she said, “It was your disregard for me that led them to believe that I was someone who could be ignored and stepped on at will. Now, how dare you pretend to be a good person? “Compared to Sienna and Alaia, who looked down on me directly, and Victor, who blatantly smeared me, you make me feel even more hypocritical.”
Levi was shocked.
When Levi and Gianna were still married, he had never cared about Gianna’s situation in the Rivera family. He thought Gianna’s life was as calm as it appeared on the surface.
Levi remembered that he had refused to have S** with Gianna back then, so the two of them had never had a child, and he had never spoken up for Gianna when Sienna criticized her for this. Levi thought about how his friends used to badmouth Gianna in front of him and how he never took it seriously, which led to them looking down on Gianna more and more.
Thinking about all this made Levi feel ashamed.
Gianna turned around indifferently, and the barely perceptible heartache faded away in her heart. “You can go now. Even if you didn’t do these things, I have plenty of ways to make Victor apologize.”
Ignoring Levi’s gradually retreating figure, Gianna hugged Kaylee and asked, “What do you want to hear today? I’ll sing for you.”
Kelly asked with concern, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. I couldn’t be better,” Gianna smiled.
“If you’re upset, we can go back,” Kelly said. She wasn’t typically known for her gentleness and warmth, so it was rare to see her expressing such genuine concern.
Gianna shook her head and said, “He’s not worth me being upset over.”

Tonight” Kaylee pulled the two of them toward the crowd.
“You’re right! We won’t return until we’re drunk tonight!”
The next day, Gianna was concentrating on reading the report in the president’s office when the head of the investment project department, with a smile on his face, stood beside her.
The report showed Maverick successfully defeating Arcadiana Bank and absorbing a publicly listed company.
“Ms. Lewis, we’re incredibly fortunate to have someone like Maverick on our team. He successfully won a seemingly hopeless acquisition case. I was too excited and couldn’t sleep last night.”
“Well, the data looks good,” Gianna calmly nodded.
After the head of the department left, Gianna received a message from an unfamiliar number. – Maverick: [Let’s meet tonight. Don’t forget.]
Gianna raised an eyebrow. She knew it was Maverick.
Since Maverick had proved his ability with this success, Gianna felt she couldn’t stand him up.
“How did Maverick get my number? I’ll have to ask later,” Gianna thought.
As soon as it was time to leave work, Gianna grabbed her bag and headed out.
Just as she reached the ground floor, Maverick’s flashy sports car appeared in front of her.
With confident strides, he stepped out of the car, made his way to the pa*senger side, and opened the door. His face beamed with satisfaction as he gestured for her to get in. “Gianna, please take a
seat.”
This time, Gianna didn’t refuse and got in.
Maverick took Gianna to a romantic restaurant called Eternal Love Restaurant.
Upon reaching their table, Maverick graciously pulled out a chair for Gianna. He then looked toward the violinist who had been waiting nearby.
The violinist immediately approached and began playing Salut d’Amour. The restaurant manager came forward and handed Gianna a bouquet of crystal roses.
Gianna could tell that Maverick had put a lot of effort into arranging all of this.
Glancing at the roses, Gianna calmly said, “Put them on the table.”
“Don’t you like them?” Maverick asked.
Gianna leaned her head against her hand and said in a dry tone, “Everyone here is sitting as a couple. You’ve turned this dinner into something resembling a proposal. Do you think I would appreciate that?”
“Sincerity is key for the first date. Don’t girls like this kind of thing?” Maverick’s beautiful eyes were filled with a smile.
Gianna rolled her eyes and said, “Such gestures can bring happiness only when they come from someone you like. When it’s done by someone you don’t like, it simply becomes a burden.”
