Chapter 56 Talk Properly
The department heads couldn’t hold back any longer. They all knew that keeping their jobs was the most important thing.
“Ms. Lewis, your personnel can be added immediately, and we will share resources with the Empyrean Group!”
“I will send the project proposal to the relevant personnel right away!”
Gianna nodded and spoke in a commanding tone, “You have one hour to finish these tasks. If you can’t complete them on time, you can leave.”
The department heads nodded in succession, all preoccupied and unable to concentrate on the meeting. Without delay, they immediately made phone calls and hastily arranged tasks for their subordinates. Meanwhile, they cast blameful looks at Merle. Although Merle wanted to defend- herself, there was nothing she could say.
“Ms. Schultz, it seems like you like to hear stories from other people,” Gianna sneered and asked, “Do you think I only rely on my looks to climb up the ladder? Do you think you can easily give me a hard time?”
“How could that be? It’s all a misunderstanding, Ms. Lewis. Please don’t mind my offense.” Merle completely softened now, speaking in a pleasing tone, defenseless against Gianna’s accusations. Gianna stood up
from her chair, turned to Levi, who hadn’t said a word throughout the meeting, and said, “Mr. Rivera, I’ve said everything I wanted to say. I’m leaving now.”
Without waiting for Levi to respond, Gianna walked out of the room in her high heels. Erwin helped her carry her bag and followed behind.
When they arrived at the elevator, Gianna heard steady and powerful footsteps behind them. She turned around and saw Levi coming out as well.
The elevator doors opened, and Gianna and Levi entered together.
Levi’s indifferent voice sounded, “When did you become so dominating and overbearing?”
“I’ve always been like this.”
“Did Chaim teach you this?” Levi’s voice grew lower, filled with jealousy he didn’t even notice. Gianna didn’t even look at Levi and asked, “What does it have to do with you?”
Levi felt increasingly irritated. He took a step closer to Gianna and asked, “Can’t we have a proper conversation?”
“No,” Gianna raised an eyebrow, her voice filled with coldness as she said, “Mr. Rivera, that’s how you’ve always talked to me before. Why are you getting angry now?”
Levi was stunned by her words. Scenes from the past flashed in his mind as he tried to recall moments when he patiently spoke to Gianna, but he couldn’t think of any.
Levi didn’t know what to say.
“Now, we may be collaborating on this project, but unless it’s necessary, please don’t contact me privately. Incidents such as riding in the elevator together should not occur again.”
As they reached the first floor, Gianna walked out of the elevator with proud steps, leaving Levi behind, doubting himself in the elevator.
In the evening, Gianna, Kaylee, and Kelly gathered at the Halo Bar.
They had a fun time, and everyone was tired. Kelly handed her phone to Gianna with a serious

expression and asked. “Any clues”
Gianna didn’t understand what Kelly meant. But after she looked at the phone, a mocking smile appeared on her face.
Kaylee leaned over and took a look, cursing under her breath. “Who are these gossip journalists? How dare they smear Gianna like this? Kelly, you should teach them a lesson!”
The article had a direct title. [Female executive with the surname Lewis secretly meeting subordinates)
There were several pictures attached to the news, all of which were pictures of the hotel where Gianna went with Enrick the night he was beaten.
The comments section was filled with malicious remarks.
[Is this for real? Has this woman’s taste deteriorated since leaving the wealthy family?]
[I don’t believe it. It’s better to be rumored to have an affair with the boss than with
subordinates!]
[It seems like this woman was hurt after her divorce and now was addicted to money and power unable to extricate herself.]
Kelly sat back on the couch, picked up a gla*s of wine, and watched the ice cubes swaying in the liquor. Her eyes turned cold as she said, “I’ve arranged for someone to investigate. We’ll know w wrote this report after tonight.”
Gianna had already gotten used to it. She calmly put down the phone and said, “There aren’t a fresh comments. It’s always the same old things. The creativity of netizens has declined.” Kelly shook her head helplessly and said, “Only you can face these comments with such ease.” Kaylee hugged Gianna and said, “Let’s sing in the bar.”
The three of them walked to the stage in the bar but unexpectedly bumped into Victor. He wa embracing two tall and scantily clad beauties, with Levi sitting beside him.
“Bro, I finally vented my anger this time,” Victor spoke while holding the women’s waists ever tighter, laughing wantonly.
Levi looked at him and asked, “What do you mean? What did you do?”
“I found the video of that woman sleeping with her subordinate in the hotel last time. I took screenshots; posted them online, and used an exaggerated title to describe it. This time, I w make sure this promiscuous woman gets thoroughly criticized.”
