Chapter 52 I Will Pay
Victor was taken aback by Levi’s harsh tone. However, he thought maybe Levi was just in a bad mood because he lost, and he didn’t think too much about that. He continued, “I wouldn’t ask that promiscuous woman. I didn’t even want to talk to her.”
“Is that so?”
Gianna’s cold voice suddenly came from behind Victor, instantly giving him goosebumps.
Victor turned around and saw Gianna behind him. He hopped back and shouted, “How come you walk silently?“.
“I’m right here. If you have anything to ask, you can ask me directly.”
Gianna stood with her arms crossed. There was a domineering aura in her eyes. It was clear that she had heard Victor insult her.
Levi simply stood quietly on the side. Although he did not look directly at Gianna, he couldn’t help stealing glances at her.
For some reason, he felt very unsettled.
“Pff, I’m not interested in a woman like you, so don’t waste your time to be close to me. Go find your sugar daddy,” Victor waved his hand dismissively.
Gianna took a few steps forward in her high heels, making Victor unconsciously retreat. She said, “Has anyone ever told you that when you gossip, you look like a teenage girl?”
Victor was infuriated and shouted, “You! You and Levi have divorced. How dare you still hang around in front of Levi and ruin his cooperation? I’ve seen plenty of scheming bitches like you, and you have no right to mock me. It’s ridiculous!”
Just then, a janitor pushing a cleaning cart happened to pass by. Gianna picked up a bucket of dirty water used to clean the skirting board and poured it straight onto Victor.
Victor was wearing a white suit made of linen today. When the water splashed on him, his clothes changed color and revealed two spots on his chest, exposing his private areas.
It was even more embarrassing than being completely naked!
Victor covered his body anxiously, worrying about exposing himself. But he was so flustered that he couldn’t effectively hide anything, which made the scene even more laughable.
“Gianna! How dare you pour water on me!”
“Do you think my behavior matches the image of your sugar daddy?” Gianna took out a checkbook from her bag, swiftly signed her name, and then walked up to Victor, stuffing the check into his collar. “You can fill in the amount yourself. I’ll cover the cost of the clothes and the humiliation. “If I hear any more rumors about me from you next time, it won’t be only dirty water.” Later, Gianna left in her high heels.
Victor picked up the check and looked at it. As Gianna said, there was no amount filled in, only Gianna’s signature.
Turning to Levi, Victor asked, “Is this woman crazy? How am I supposed to go out and meet people like this?”
Levi coldly replied, “You deserve it.”
Then Levi took off his coat and threw it at Victor’s face.
Victor quickly took off his wet clothes and covered Levi’s coat around his waist, watching as the

two of them walked away without even acknowledging him. He shouted, “Hey! How can you just leave? How can I deserve to be treated like this?”
Having returned to the company, Gianna checked the work progress of the investment projects department over the past few days. She noticed that due to Maverick’s involvement, the company had seen significant growth in returns.
Now, Gianna felt that keeping Maverick in the project department was an incredibly wise choice. Maverick had always had a keen intuition for venture capital since he was a child, and he started his own venture capital company when he owned his first stock.
At fifteen years old, Maverick became famous on Wall Street. If it weren’t for Cole’s fear that he would get lost with too much money pile, forcing him to return to the family business to study management, Maverick might have achieved even greater success by now.
Having confirmed all reports, Gianna finished work and left.
As soon as Gianna got outside the door, a flashy red sports car parked right in front of her. Maverick got out of the car. This time, he didn’t send her roses but instead handed her an exquisite box.
His beautiful eyes were passionate and filled with a cheerful smile as he said, “Beauty, we meet again,”
Gianna wanted to look at her watch and was about to say something, but Maverick interrupted her.
“Don’t give me that ‘work–time excuse. It’s already past working hours now.” Maverick looked serious. It was obvious that he was still frightened by Gianna’s roar before.
Gianna checked her watch and realized that it was indeed past six o’clock.
“You can’t block your boss during work hours. Do you think it’s fine just because it’s after work?” Maverick swallowed nervously and said, “I know you’re not someone with a bad temper, so do you hink there is some misunderstanding between us?”
