Levi became stone-faced, not uttering a word.
Amber let out a cold laugh. “You know, woman to woman, it’s pretty clear Gianna has zero feelings for you, Levi. Time to move on.”
This jab hit Levi where it hurt. “Enough, Amber.”
“What, can’t face reality?”
Levi barely moved his l*ps. “What goes around comes around. If you’re looking for a second chance, I’m willing to back you up. Let’s say it’s to make. up for my brother.”
“Don’t you dare bring him up!”
Amber’s voice rose sharply, her emotions veering off track. “Levi Rivera, never talk about him. around me.”
Amber gripped her head, emotionally unhinged.
She swung her gaze back to Levi, nearly bursting with rage. “If you want to help, put five hundred million dollars into White Group. Otherwise, both Gianna and I go down.”
When it came to money, Levi didn’t hesitate for a moment.
He drew a stack of checks from his pocket, signed one swiftly, and handed it over to Amber. “Last chance. Stay away from Gianna.”
He thrust the ch*ck into her hand and strode off.
Amber stood frozen, eyeing his retreating back with seething hatred.
She clenched the check, crumpling it in an instant.
After leaving the café, Gianna felt aimless for the first time. She was drained, like a worn-out bird in search of a perch.
Then, in a flash, a figure appeared. Gianna blinked, rubbing her eyes, thinking she was imagining things. But there was Shawn, already in front of her
He met her eyes warmly. “Gianna, what are you doing?”
Gianna chuckled. “Shawn, why are you here? I thought I was seeing things.”
Shawn clasped her hand. “I heard from Erwin that you left the company in a hurry. I was worried
that something had happened to you, so I came here to make sure everything was okay.”
Her l*ps curved into a smile, the warmth from his hand filling her with comfort.
For once, her restless heart seemed to find a sanctuary.
“Don’t worry, Shawn. I’m fine. Actually, I’m a bit relieved.”
“Relieved? About what?” Shawn was puzzled.
Gianna just smiled, holding his hand even tighter.
She was relieved….
She was relieved that she’d finally sorted out her feelings, and that the man who used to consume her thoughts was now definitively in her past.
“Shawn, Susan’s shown her true colors. She’s Amber Turner, heiress of the Turner family. From now on, it’s war between us.”

A spark of intensity lit up Shawn’s eyes. Anyone who knew him would understand it as a sign of impending danger.
“What’s your game plan?”
Gianna took a deep breath, her eyes ablaze with unyielding confidence. “See her on the battlefield. May the best person win.”

for it. I’ve got your back,” was all Shawn said.
He knew her, and he had faith in her.
If she took the next step forward, the sky was the limit, if she retreated, she’d find herself safely in
his arms.
