Chapter 244 Not Convinced 

Maverick’s project was unanimously approved. 

After the meeting ended, Gianna was the first to leave the conference room, following closely behind, reporting their work to her. 

“Gianna!”

Just as the two of them reached the office door, they were suddenly called out by a voice. Shortly after, Rebecca walked gracefully towards Gianna, wearing a smile on her face. 

Gianna was surprised. Since her divorce from Levi, she had completely severed ties with the Rivera family. 

There had been no contact with any relatives of the Rivera family either. 

How did Rebecca find her here? 

Even though she was puzzled, Gianna politely asked, “Rebecca, why are you here?” 

Rebecca raised the thermal container in her hand and said, “Grandmother asked me to bring chicken soup to you…” 

Gianna nodded and closed the file in her hand, handing it to Raymond and said, “Go ahead and do as you say.” 

“Yes, Ms. Lewis.” 

When Raymond left, Gianna turned to Rebecca and said, “Rebecca, come to my office and have a seat.” 

Rebecca agreed and followed Gianna into the office. 

Rebecca was surprised by the change in Gianna’s aura. In the past, Gianna had always been submissive and obedient in the Rivera family. 

Even though she became Levi’s secretary and had some influence by his side, she had never really paid much attention to Gianna in the company. 

Now, Gianna had transformed into the CEO of Empyrean Group and somehow exuded a sense of oppression towards her. This was something she had never experienced before. 

“Gianna, you’ve changed so much!” Rebecca said as soon as they entered the office. 

“Rebecca, you’re joking. It’s just a job change,” Gianna humbly replied. 

“Please have a seat, Rebecca,” she added. 

Rebecca sat down on the sofa and handed the thermal container to Li Ge. 

“Try it. Grandma specially asked me to bring it to you.” 

Gianna nodded politely but maintained some distance. “Please thank Grandma for me. She went through so much trouble.” 

Rebecca smiled and said, “There’s no need for thanks. In Grandma’s eyes, you’ve always been like a granddaughter to her, even after your divorce from Levi. She has never changed.” 

Gianna restrained her emotions and remained silent. 

Rebecca opened the thermal container, filled a bowl, and handed it to Gianna. She continued, “Gianna, have you ever considered reconciling with Levi? After all, it is Grandma’s greatest 

wish…” 

Gianna took the bowl, seemingly casual but firm with every word. 

“Rebecca, there are some things we don’t need to discuss anymore…” 

Rebecca clearly didn’t believe her. “But Gianna, Levi still cares about you. You saw it at Grandma’s birthday banquet. He was always the first one to stand up 

for you.” 

Unexpectedly, Gianna changed the subject and asked, “Rebecca, are you dating someone?” 

Rebecca instinctively clutched her clothes, feeling a bit nervous. 

Her tone became somewhat stuttered. 

“I… I haven’t found the right person yet. I don’t want to settle.” 

Gianna took a sip of the chicken soup with the spoon and then said, “Funny, I don’t want to settle either.” 

Being with Levi would mean compromising herself, letting go of the past, and settling. The implication behind her words was self–evident. 

Rebecca understood it perfectly well 

She secretly rejoiced in her heart. 

As long as Gianna didn’t entangle herself with Levi, it would be fine. 

However, her visit today wasn’t just about delivering chicken soup. She had more important things to do. 

So, she smiled awkwardly and said, “Well, I was being nosy. Let’s forget about it.”
