Chapter 228 The Apprenticeship With Professor Hastings 

“Avery, what are you talking about? Gianna carned the position of head designer through her real skills. Now that the fashion show is over and the public response is so positive, it clearly demonstrates Gianna’s talent. Why are you spreading baseless rumors here?” 

Avery disagreed. 

Avery appeared to be showing disdain with his expression. 

“Heh, is that so? This could have happened to anyone! It doesn’t necessarily have to be her, Gianna!” 

“Avery, it’s enough!” 

Blake Davis stepped in to block him, but Avery remained still. “Gianna, dare you say that you didn’t use your status and background in all of this?” 

As soon as he asked this question, Gianna looked at Avery without emotion, seemingly unfazed, with no understanding of where his hostility was coming from. 

But there was one thing she needed to clarify. 

“The appointment of the head designer for this event was fair and unbiased, with no so–called ‘dirty tricks‘ involved.” 

When Avery heard this, he laughed loudly. 

“Who believed it? Do you guys believe it?” 

At this point, Blake spoke up, saying, “Avery, Gianna and Joyce competed fairly for the position of head designer, and it was decided through unanimous evaluation. Don’t cause a scene here!” 

Avery looked at Blake in confusion. 

His mind was still a bit foggy. Why was this different from what Joyce had told him? 

“Avery!” Carmen called his name with a stern tone. 

“I don’t care what’s going on with you today, but I must tell you that Gianna’s designs speak for themselves, and I’ve already had some thoughts on this matter. Since you’re all here today, I’ll be straightforward.” 

As Carmen began to speak, everyone’s attention was focused on him as he surveyed the room, and his gaze ultimately settled on Gianna. 

“Gianna, even before the fashion show, I had the intention to offer you some guidance, although I didn’t explicitly say it. Today, I’ve called you here for this matter. I’m getting close to retirement, and I’ve always wanted to find a promising disciple to pa*s on some of my design techniques. Would you be willing to be my student?” 

The crowd went silent for a moment. 

Becoming Carmen’s disciple was the dream of many, and even among this group of people, there were those who secretly hoped for this opportunity. 

But now, Carmen gave this rare opportunity to Gianna. 

This was enough to show how highly he regarded Gianna.. 

Gianna was a bit stunned at the moment. She remained silent for several seconds before finally asking, “Professor Hastings, are you serious?” 

Carmen smiled.

Gianna took a deep breath, but Blake spoke up first, saying, “Gianna, just agree! Professor Hastings doesn’t make such offers lightly.” 

“Yeah, Gianna! This opportunity is so rare! We can’t even beg for it,” another student chimed in. 

“Your talent is undeniable, and we all admire you. Just agree to it!” another student added their voice to the chorus. 

Seeing everyone praising Gianna so much, Avery couldn’t bear it any longer. He snorted coldly and walked away. 

Faced with the expectant gazes of everyone. 

Gianna finally nodded and said, “I’m willing! It’s an honor to become Professor Hastings‘ student.” Receiving Gianna’s affirmative response, everyone couldn’t help but cheered. 

Carmen also looked pleased. 

“If that’s the case, why wait? Let’s not delay any further. How about we hold the initiation ceremony today?” 

Blake suggested. 

Carmen looked at Gianna and asked, “Young lady, what do you think?”
