Chapter 162 Lingering Unease
With a glance, Shawn understood Lily’s meaning, but he had a vague sense that Gianna was being distant towards him.

“Oh, by the way, Gianna. I know you’re very interested in design. Carmen, a professor at Silver University’s School of Design, is my classmate. He will be hosting a design exhibition in the city in a couple of days. I have an invitation here. Why don’t you and Shawn go in my place?”
A faint smile formed at the corner of Gianna’s mouth. She was interested.
“Sure! It’s a good opportunity to learn.”
Lily felt a surge of joy in her heart and looked at Shawn. Shawn immediately understood and realized that Lily was creating an opportunity for both of them.
“Well, we’ll go together then.”
Lily nodded in satisfaction.
“Okay, it’s good that you two have each other. But boy, I still have to remind you to take care of Gianna.”
“Lily, don’t worry. Shawn is such a caring guy, and he will definitely take good care of me.” Gianna chimed in to ease Lily’s concerns. Seeing their perfect understanding, Lily couldn’t stop smiling.
As a renowned professor of fashion design at Silver University’s School of Design, Carmen had been teaching for decades and had numerous students.
His works had won many professional awards both domestically and internationally, making him highly respected in the local area. Therefore, this design exhibition attracted many professionals. from both inside and outside the industry.
“Alaia, did
you hand over your design works to Professor Hastings?” At the entrance, Sienna pulled Alaia aside and asked, “You’re already a sophomore now. If you want to apply for Professor Hastings‘ graduate program, you need to be quick. Don’t end up with nothing.”
Alaia couldn’t help but feel annoyed by Sienna’s nagging and replied in a bad tone, “I’ve already submitted my work. Don’t worry! I have confidence in my own designs. It’s just a matter of time before I get into Professor Hastings‘ graduate program.”
After hearing that, Sienna felt relieved. “That’s good. Show your best when you meet Professor Hastings later. Try to get him to secure your position early so that after you graduate in your senior year, you can continue on to graduate school directly.”

Sienna and Alaia walked into the lobby with their own thoughts.
Alaia looked around, searching for Carmen’s figure. However, after a complete scan, she didn’t find him anywhere. Just as she was about to give up, her gaze suddenly stopped.
“Why is Gianna here?”
At the mention of this name, Sienna’s expression instantly turned unpleasant.
“Humph, that bitch!” The scene of being confronted by Gianna last time still vividly remained in Sienna’s mind. She hated Gianna to the point of itching teeth but had no way to deal with her. “Mom, why would she be here?” Alaia said anxiously.

“She’s probably here to visit the art exhibition. It has nothing to do with us. Don’t bother with her,” Sienna dismissively said, not taking Gianna seriously.
However, Alaia was a bit panicked. “Mom, what if she’s here to cause trouble? She knows I want to apply for Professor Hastings‘ graduate program. She specifically appeared here to ruin my future. What should I do?”
Sienna showed a hint of surprise and then quickly reached out to pat Alaia’s hand, comforting her. “Don’t worry, what does she know about design? Your talent speaks for itself. Professor Hastings won’t ignore your abilities just because of a few words from her.”
“But…” Alaia hesitated.
