Chapter 4
The noise in the hall got louder, and when I saw how fast they were all walking toward me, my heart thrummed fast. I looked at Luna, who gave me a death stare, I quickly stood up and put the glass pieces back in the tray.
Ethan, Shane, and Hayden were now standing next to me, and I could smell them. My nose started to run a little bit. I didn’t dare look at three of them, and I knew it would be best to just go back to the kitchen and wait for Mrs. Cara to hit me before the Luna punished me.
I gulped and tried to leave, but Ethan grabbed me by the arm and pulled me back.
Ethan pulled me next to him while I kept blinking my eyes a few times. I mustered up all the bravery I had left to sneak a look at him before putting my head down.
He snapped his fingers in front of Penelope, Hailey, and Brianna, whose faces showed that they were scared.
The sound of Ethan’s voice reverberated through the air, giving me chills. I wondered how much deeper his voice had gotten in only three years.
“I saw you two push her, so why should she apologize when it was you two who were wrong?” He growled, and I was surprised that he was standing up for me.
The Ethan I knew never would! He, along with Shane and Hayden, would make things worse and make me feel even worse.
“You three owe her an apology right now! We saw everything you did, and if you didn’t know, the way you attacked this young woman has been taped the whole time. If you don’t apologize to her, this video will be shown on all media platforms, and you know what that means for your family!” Shane made them afraid.
His voice wasn’t as deep as Ethan’s, so I turned my head and took a quick look at him. He had a strong b*dy, beautiful green eyes, and a Romanesque nose. His cheekbones were high.
He was as good as a god. All of them were like gods. Hayden also had a high cheekbone, which added to the manliness of his face, He was tall and well–built, and his brown eyes were like a collection of the brightest stars.
Out of the three, Ethan was the most beautiful. At least, that’s what other people said, even though he was very beautiful. Even though he hurt me, I would never see him the way other people did.
Shane and Hayden weren’t perfect either, but they did care about what they did. Ethan, on the other hand, was much worse–he was the devil himself!
So, that’s why I was surprised when Ethan was one of the first people to stand up
for me.
I didn’t take my eyes off Shane, and I was thinking so much that I didn’t even notice that he was already looking at me. When we locked eyes, I quickly turned my attention back to Eleanor and her friends.
“My Alphas, I’m sorry for pushing her. You don’t know the whole story, but I’m sorry. Let’s go, girls” Penelope tried to smile, but it was weak, and I could see the hate in her eyes for me.
She was about to leave, but Hayden stood right in front of her and stopped her. “You’re not apologizing to us; you’re apologizing to the girl you beat up!” He said this with a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
“Little Girl?” I said it again, not understanding why they were all calling me “young lady.” Was it because they couldn’t remember me? Have I changed so much that they no longer know who I am?
What would they do if they found out that the girl they have always treated like trash was the one they were protecting?
Penelope laughed out loud. “I’m a well–liked member of my pack, and my father was a beta. I would never bow down in front of an Omega.
“No way!” Penelope frowned, and when she was done talking, Ethan let go of my arm and walked over to a table where a cake was sitting.
He took the cake and walked toward me, but I didn’t know what he was trying to do.
He walked like a tiger toward us as he clicked his tongue in his mouth. “So, you wouldn’t say sorry, would you?”
Penelope laughed, which was very brave of her. “I wouldn’t say sorry because I only owe you three an apology, and I’ve already said sorry, and…” Before she could finish her sentence, I heard a gasp.
Ethan smashed the cake right in Penelope’s face. Hayden took pictures of her, and I didn’t even notice that Shane was smashing two cakes on Eleanor and Brianna’s faces at the same time.
I couldn’t believe anything that happened before me! I wouldn’t argue that three of them were up to no good, but the fact that they all worked together to protect me was something I never would have thought of.
It was like a dream!
“I would make sure to put these videos that I bought tonight to good use.” Hayden laughed as Penelope and her followers ran out of the hall quickly to hide their shame.
I didn’t know what to say or do because I was at a loss for words.
I bowed to the three of them and quickly said “Sorry” as I chewed on the inside of my mouth.
I was getting ready to leave when I heard my name and that made me stop. Shane, Ethan, and Hayden called at the same time.
When I turned to look at them, my fingers were shaking, and their smell filled my nose. At the same time, I felt a surge of heat rise in my gut.
Their smells used to bother me, but now they make me want to be near them. It calmed my mind and made me feel like I could get lost in it for the rest of my life.
As they both sang in unison, I could see that they were both surprised.
“Mate.”
