Chapter 15 My Love for You Remains the Same
Aline respectfully said, “Mr. Xander hasn’t been this happy in a long time. Mr. Stanley, I know why you’d keep Ms. Hurst around.” Stanley gave a faint smile and turned to leave. Aline hurriedly followed him, leaving Coleen and Xander talking and laughing in the cla*sroom. The b*dyguards, who had worked for Xander for a long time, were surprised to hear him laugh. Before today, they had thought he didn’t even know how to smile. After lunch, Xander needed to take a nap, and Coleen left for work at the club. In the early afternoon, someone knocked on Coleen’s office door. After getting her permission, a Public Relations Department staff member entered with a large bouquet of roses. “Ms. Hurst, Mr. Lynch just had these flowers delivered to you.” “Mr. Lynch?” In confusion, Coleen walked over to pick up the card in the bouquet, which read, “No matter how long it has been, my love for you will always remain the same. All I want is a chance to walk into your heart.” It was signed by Chad Lynch. With a frown, Coleen accepted the flowers and smiled at the staff member, “Your name is Donna Moore, right? Thank you.” Donna was surprised that Coleen knew her name. She bowed slightly. “Yes, I’m Donna.” Coleen nodded and smiled. After Donna left, Coleen placed the flowers on the coffee table, a gleam in her eyes. Why did Chad still send her flowers? Coleen didn’t understand. She’d made her stand very clear. After all she had been through, she no longer believed she would ever have true love. With a long sigh, Coleen went outside to ch*ck the work with the three section leaders. Coleen was smart. Few people could memorize so many rules in such a short time or get on the right track at a new job so quickly. But Coleen didn’t even need to go through the adaptation period. After dinner, the busy hours began. Coleen was constantly on edge. This was probably the only place in Serendale that would take her in, so she couldn’t afford to make a mistake. As Coleen was about to head upstairs, she suddenly spotted Chad. Chad was leaning against the wall, smoking. At the sight of Coleen, he extinguished the cigarette and said, “You can finally catch a breath.” As much as she didn’t want to see him, Coleen walked over and bowed to Chad. “Mr. Lynch, welcome.” “Now that Lyndon is no longer between us, can you stop being so formal with me?” Chad protested. Coleen bit her l*p and remained silent for a moment before saying, “Did you not hear a word I said yesterday?” “Is there someone else pursuing you now?” Coleen gazed at him with gratitude. At this juncture, where she was condemned as an evil demon, Chad still cared for her. “Mr. Lynch, I no longer believe in love. Please stop wasting your time on me.” “You wouldn’t open your heart to anyone except Lyndon, right? But, Coleen, be rational. Lyndon doesn’t want you. You’ve rejected and hurt me, yet I believe you wouldn’t hurt Diana. He’s the person you deeply love, but he doesn’t believe in you at all.” Chad’s words made Coleen misty-eyed.
