Chapter 182 Went to See Elijah
Elijah and Ben drank until late at night.
Imogen couldn’t stay up any longer and fell asleep in Ben’s
arms.
Ben lowered his head from time to time, caressing Imogen’s face with a tenderness in his eyes.
Elijah had been drunk for a long time, but his mind was very sober. Noticing Ben’s affection toward Imogen, he showed a mocking smile.
He couldn’t speak clearly now, so he said silently in his heart, “Ben, wait and see. Sooner or later, you will be like me.”
Later, Elijah insisted on going back to the Maple Villa.
Ben had no choice but to help him. Ben sent him back, threw him in the bedroom, and then left.
Lying on the bed, Elijah smelled the lingering fragrance of Cordelia on the pillow and hugged it in his arms.
He curled up, murmured her name, and fell asleep gradually…
A few days later, when Cordelia was preparing to travel, Imogen told her a piece of news.
“Cordelia, Elijah is sick and has had a fever for several days. He won’t go to the hospital or take medicine. Ben asked me to ask you to go and pay a visit to him.”
Imogen’s tone was cautious on the phone, which made Cordelia feel she was a little strange.
“Imogen, why do I feel you sound very guilty? Are you lying?” Cordelia asked.

“I… I accidentally told Elijah you had a crush on him before, and then he fell ill. That’s why I feel guilty…” Imogen’s voice became smaller as she spoke.
Hearing her words, Cordelia froze and then showed a wry smile. “I knew it. He doesn’t believe me when I tell him. He would only believe it when hearing it from others. Imogen, do you think he deserves my sympathy?”
“He’s not worth it. He deserves it. Let him go to hell!” Imogen said with indignation.
Cordelia rubbed her temples. “There’s no need to be so cruel. Forget it. I’ll go and see him!”
Cordelia and Elijah didn’t have a dispute on the division of
property, and they broke up peacefully. She wished him the best and thought there was no need to make them like enemies.
Seeing Cordelia was about to go out, Milo came out with his cane. “Drive my car. Go back early.”
Milo handed her the car key.
Holding the key, Cordelia had sweat on her back. “Milo, I’m… afraid to drive.”
She was still often awakened when dreaming of the car accident, so she couldn’t drive until now.
Milo was not surprised. “Then let the driver send you there.”
Cordelia said with a smile, “Thank you, Milo.”
The driver sent Cordelia to the Maple Villa.
When entering the door, she tried to input fingerprints, and the door opened.
It seemed Elijah hadn’t deleted her fingerprints.
She came to the living room and saw Edith and Nora hovering anxiously.
Edith’s eyes lit up when she saw Cordelia. “Cordelia, I’m so glad you are willing to come. Come and help me persuade Elijah to take medicine. He has a high fever and is about to faint.”
Cordelia smiled helplessly.
Although Edith usually looked tough, she was very soft-hearted.
Even if she said she was not Elijah’s mother in a fit of anger before, she was the most anxious about his illness.
“Mrs. Edith Hansen, don’t worry. I’ll go up and have a look.”
Hearing Cordelia’s words, Edith was stunned.
