Chapter 106 A New Way
Cordelia screenshotted the photo and sent it to Imogen.
“Looks like Ben is getting some use out of his backup status.”
Not long after, Imogen replied with a voice message.
“Haha, that bastard was in my bed yesterday, saying he loves me. And now, he went to the woman he had always longed for. Can’t trust men when they’re in bed, huh?”
Cordelia couldn’t help but feel sorry for Imogen.
She knew that beneath Imogen’s carefree look, she must be hurting.
A moment later, Imogen sent another voice message.
“It’s clear that Elissa is panicking. Otherwise, why would she choose to stay with Ben at this moment?”
Cordelia thought the same thing.
The photo incident was something Mary had done. And now, with Ben as her shield, Elissa believed Elijah wouldn’t do anything to her.
As for how Elijah intended to deal with the situation, Cordelia hadn’t given it much thought.
At the moment, she had a more pressing issue on her mind, something she couldn’t make up her mind about.
So, she decided to visit Milo.
Milo lived in a suburban cla*sic-style single-family courtyard.
There was a garden with various herbs, and the moment she stepped inside, the scent of medicinal herbs enveloped her, bringing a sense of tranquility.
No matter how agitated Cordelia was, whenever she entered this place, her heart would find peace.
When Cordelia arrived, Milo put aside what he was doing and invited her to sit in the courtyard for some coffee.
“Milo, I can’t drink coffee,” Cordelia said as she picked up the pot and poured a cup for Milo.
Milo frowned. “Why not?”
Cordelia smiled bitterly and showed her wrist to Milo.
Milo understood her message and had a good guess about the reason. However, he still sighed deeply after checking, “Girl, what are you going to do?”
Cordelia’s eyes teared up as she replied, “I don’t know, Milo. But no matter what, I want to keep this child.”
Milo contemplated for a moment before speaking, “I’ve heard that Gideon, the head of the Hansen family, values bloodlines a lot and is quite stubborn. Your situation might be challenging.”
Cordelia understood this very well.
That was why she had only confided in Imogen about her pregnancy.
Later, Cordelia briefly explained Elijah’s attitude to Milo.
Milo smiled knowingly. “It seems like that boy still has a bit of a conscience left. But even though he’s given up the chance to treat that woman’s leg, the ties between them won’t be so easily severed.”

Milo affectionately patted her head. “Silly girl, there’s nothing in life that can’t be overcome. If you take him seriously, he’ll be an important part of your life. But if you don’t, he’ll be like a strong
medicine. No matter how effective he is, he’ll still be too potent and harsh for you, right?
“If you want a good life, sometimes, being pa*sive and retreating can be a good strategy.”
Listening to Milo’s words, Cordelia suddenly felt enlightened.
She had been so fixated on leaving Elijah, on finding a way to end their mistaken relationship.
Perhaps, she had been approaching it wrong.
Relationships were just a form. If she couldn’t find peace, even after divorce, she would still be unhappy.
At this moment, Eason and Adam arrived together.
