Chapter 69
Charlotte woke up after two days. Her b*dy ached terribly, but that was not all. The room had a disgusting stench, usually accompanying omegas.
Her eyes open
opened gloomily to her environment, seeing the rather plain and small room she was in. Come to think. of it, her pains were worsened by the bed she slept on. Rising to a sitting position, her eyes checked her environment, disdain flooding through her veins.
The shabby room was enough to chase out the pain she felt before, as all she wanted to do was get out of it. The pain she felt was a hint that she had not received medical treatment for her injuries.
It was a painful process to await the healing of one’s wolf when terribly injured, and it also took a few days. Not. understanding the reason she was made to sleep in a servant’s room without receiving medical treatment, she thought about complaining to Alpha Nick.
However, her full bladder drew her to a plain wooden door as she went inside to ease the discomfort of wanting
to pee.
The stench that met her nose was enough to make her barf. As if she was dreaming, she began screaming and
hitting the door. “Let me out!”
The door opened instantly, as if someone was waiting to hear her voice, and Beta Dustin stood at the doorway.. “What is the matter?” he asked with a blank expression.
Charlotte’s eyes lit at the sight of Dustin, meaning she wasn’t dreaming, right? “Dustin, it’s good you are here. What am I doing here?” Throughout her stay at the packhouse, she never visited the servants‘ quarters, so this
was all too strange to her.
Dustin did not hold back and began to explain, “According to the Alpha, this is your punishment for the embarrassment you caused him by allowing yourself to get beaten by a mere warrior like Anita.”
That was how he and Alpha Nick planned it. To pin all the blame on her so she wouldn’t suspect that he found out about her disgusting acts with Tom.
When Alpha Nick came up with this plan, Dustin thought he was insane, but Charlotte’s reaction made it
worthwhile.

She was as pale as a ghost. “What? He’s already aware of my weakness,” she said defensively before the thought of how Alpha Nick had insist that she improves on her battle skills before introducing her to pack business
crossed her mind. She never imagined it would result in this.
“Well, h
he left instructions that unless you improved on your battle skills, you were not allowed into your previous room. He had your things removed, and you can find your clothes in that small wardrobe.” He pointed at the shabby thing in the corner. Charlotte did not bother to check, being repelled by everything in the room.
Charlotte was knocked with dizziness by the information, but one thing was sure. As the daughter of the Gamma of her pack, she was not going to allow herself to be treated like an omega because she was not as tough as the regular she–wolves.
“I’m not staying here, or I’d rather go back to my pack.” There was sternness in her tone. Alpha Nick loved her, that she was
sure of. He even agreed to allow her anywhere as long as she was accompanied by some warriors.
“Oh, that. The Alpha also said to inform you that until you both rejected each other, you are not allowed out of the pack,” Beta Dustin revealed, taunting, “he doesn’t want you to get kidnapped again.”
“What nonsense? I demand to see him now.”
Charlotte was furious. Who knew that her lie about getting kidnapped would result in this? Beta Dustin seemed to be enjoying this role, watching her suffer the way Alpha Nick did in her absence and how they all except. Athena mistreated Sheila because of her.
“He went to the welcome and mate–finding party of the Alpha King’s prodigal daughter an hour ago. He should be back tomorrow, considering the distance.”
Charlotte was saddened that Alpha Nick did not go with her as they had planned. He was not even interested,
saying that Beta Dustin should represent him, but now, he left at the time she needed him most.
At the time she was unconscious without knowing if she would get any better. “Alright. Until then, I will just go to my former room.”
About to bypass Beta Dustin, he blocked her way. “I already told you that your things have been moved out. He had it cleaned so you aren’t allowed there anymore. Alpha Nick also stopped all works on your parents‘ house, saying he won’t continue until he sees improvement in your skills.”
At this time, Charlotte’s face was red like a chili pepper. Sheila burned down her parents‘ house, and now, Alpha Nick has refused to allow the workers to continue working on it. This wasn’t fair to her, but then again, Beta

Dustin might just be pulling her legs.
“You are just blabbing. I don’t believe you.”
She still tried to bypass him, and though he didn’t stop her, he thought to keep her informed.

“And for your information, the pack members are revolting, calling you too weak to be their Luna. The Alpha is quite upset with your lack of improvement, resulting in this. I hope you begin to take training seriously to redeem your name and image, or the pack members might even stone you to death.”
Beta Dustin watched Charlotte’s back stiffen. Smirking, he added, “They are inciting the Alpha to bring back their Luna as you don’t qualify.”
Charlotte was now greatly upset, knowing that if the pack members knew that Sheila was the CEO of Sherry’s Couture and Glamour, they would love her even more. She turned around and retorted,
“But Athena wasn’t a
warrior.” That was what gave her hope that Alpha Nick would accept her as she was. Betal Dustin responded calmly,
“That is the reason why she was never a Luna. Do you want to be like Athena? Are you also sick?” He asked in a
ridiculing tone. Charlotte felt like her head was about to explode with a headache.
She needed to see Tom. He might still have the money to be able to support her parents. His parents couldn’t have been too bad, right? “Where is Tom?” She asked eagerly. Beta Dustin smiled this time.
“He interfered in the fight between you and Anita, so the Alpha was upset and beat him up. He is still
unconscious.”

Charlotte found her heart breaking this time. She could barely stand on her feet. When did Alpha Nick become heartless? “I will go to the hospital to see him,” she said eagerly, needing some fresh air as well.
She felt suffocated and dizzy. She might pass out if she continued this conversation. It seemed that good news
was far from her.
“No. He is in the male servants‘ room too. You could be beaten if you go to that territory.”
She knew that no woman was allowed in that territory. Fear registered in her eyes, but then, what was the use of
Dustin as the Alpha’s beta?

“Let’s go together. You should be protecting me.”
She tried to drag him along, but he shifted aside quickly, a disgusted look in his eyes.

“I’m sorry, Charlotte, but the Alpha said that Sheila was not protected when she walked around as the Luna. You should do the same. If you feel any better, you should go to the kitchen to get some food before joining us for training. The maids don’t serve anyone in this part of the pack house.”
Charlotte was rendered speechless this time, as the reality began to gnaw at her as to what exactly was happening. She never went to the kitchen as she couldn’t stand the heat.
Was she supposed to cook her own food or request it in the kitchen? Was it not the maids‘ responsibility to ask what she wanted and cook it for her? No.
She couldn’t accept this. She was about to retort when she felt something strange and uncomfortable on her right foot. Looking down, it was a mouse, she began screaming.
“Ahhhhhhh! Get me out of here. A mouse, a mouse.”

The maids close began to giggle. Feeling ashamed, she ran out of the packhouse to goddess knows where. Dustin winked at the maids. This was a good job done, and he couldn’t wait to see Tom’s reaction too.
