Alpha Nick was not ready to barge in, and knowing his bad temper, Sheila was nervous but adhered to the request. Alpha Nick would easily get violent when angered, and right now, he looked like he wanted to murder all the men around Sheila.
Alpha Ansaldo was seething with rage as Alpha Nick led Sheila to a quiet place. Sheila was only thinking about the opportunities she might lose if Alpha Nick made things difficult for her.
The whole business thing might just turn into an ex–contract Luna saga, instead of the business opportunity she
craved.
“I’m afraid you have
to make whatever you want to discuss snappy. Which of my branches are you interested in?” Sheila maintained a professional tone, at the same time avoiding the intense gaze lingering on her.
Alpha Nick was both mesmerized and upset. How could she treat him as just a business partner?
“Sheila, I don’t mind the partnership and all, but are you going to say that you haven’t lied to me?”
Alpha Nick would not mind extending the business aspect of his pack. That was his main purpose for coming too, except he was blown away by his ex–contract Luna.
“Excuse me, I don’t know what you are talking about,” Sheila said coldly, as she continued in the pretense of not knowing him. Alpha Nick could not care about the level of her pretense.
Since they met again, he didn’t want the communication line to break again. “Have you unblocked my number?”
Sheila’s hands balled into fists as she was unwilling to unblock his number. If their discussion was solely business, she would have given him the contact number of one of her managers but it seemed to her that Alpha Nick was not there for business.
“Now I see you got it wrong. I will go and attend to the other guests.” She turned to leave when Alpha Nick. grabbed her by the arm.
“Sheila.”
Sheila turned around, facing him with a cold glare. “I’m Sherry. Who is Sheila?” Sheila was an orphan and a pauper, but Sherry was the short form of Sheridan, the Alpha King’s only daughter and CEO of Sherry’s Couture

Alpha Nick was enraged. He couldn’t stand the fact that she continued in the pretense of not knowing him. He wondered why she used red lipstick and wore a red dress. Was she here to only catch business attention or also the attention of the single men around?
“If you continue lying to me, I will k*ss you right here in the open,” Alpha Nick dared her. They never even shared a peck throughout their six months contract marriage, but he was daring to k*ss her in the open when his mate was somewhere around.
Sheila felt insulted but remained composed, not forgetting her reason for being here..
“And how will you explain it to your little mate?” She asked coyly, knowing that reminding him of Charlotte was the only way to cause him to back down.

However, she also just confirmed that everything he said was true. “So you agree to be Sheila,” Alpha Nick pointed out. Sheila gritted her teeth for allowing him to mess with her mind once again,
“I prefer to be called Sherry.”
“I investigated the name you gave me and guess what?” Alpha Nick let out a bitter smile. Sheila already knew. what he was about to say as she did it on purpose.
“Alpha Nick, I’m only here for business. There is nothing between us, and I won’t have you wasting my time.” She turned around and began to hasten towards the business men still waiting for her.
Alpha Nick was about to stop her when she gritted her teeth. “Just stay away from me.”
The hate in her eyes caused his knees to wobble. “What did I do to you?” Alpha Nick asked in a deflated tone.
Everything started as a contract and apart from being cold to her and not giving her any attention, he couldn’t remember anything he did wrong.
“We are divorced, and I don’t want you near me. That is all I ask,” Sheila said coldly with a solemn expression.
Alpha Nick pursed his lips, lost for the right words to say. “Alright. If that is how you want it, then I wish you all the best.”
Sheila turned to leave, a little disappointed that he gave up so easily. It wasn’t as if she would have told him

everything about herself if he had persisted. Lo and behold, Alpha Nick spoke behind her.
“About the collaboration, I’m interested. Can I have your card?”
Sheila fished out a card and gave it to him. “One of my managers will attend to you.”
“Why did you lie about being an orphan and a pauper?” He asked with a serious expression. Sheila wanted to ignore him at first, but if giving him an explanation will keep him away from her, then she was ready for it.
“Because when I married you, I gave up everything. You were my mother, father, friends, siblings, and even kids. You were all I ever wanted.” Her voice sounded teary in the end so she stopped talking. “Please excuse me.”
Alpha Nick was so dazed by her words, he couldn’t stop her. Even when he saw so many men around her, he didn’t have the guts to go near her as a mindlink cut through.

“What?” Alpha Nick, already angered with himself for letting Sheila down, did not think about any other thing being more important than what Sheila had just told him. To her, she was his everything, but he took her for

‘Please move quietly to the garden. The b*dyguard outside instructed through mindlink. It was unlike him to speak like that to his Alpha, so Alpha Nick instantly discerned a big problem, following the instruction.
Alpha Ansaldo did not like the way Alpha Nick looked at Sheila. Since she was his date, he would ensure that she became his Luna by any means possible as he mindlinked someone.

Alpha Nick reached the garden and froze. Charlotte and Tom were engaged in a passionate k*ss as Charlotte pushed Tom away and slapped him on the right cheek. “You moron. Someone might see us.”
