Although Alton was the governor, he had never matched Charles‘ power and authority in New Bay.
He lost many of his men to corruption as Charles slowly but surely stripped all of them away.
He realized he could control New Bay completely once he dealt with Charles.
“I would have conquered all of New Bay if I had another year! You’re just some nob*dy who couldn’t do anything without Caspian coming to your rescue! You’re nothing more than a coward without any ambitions of your own!” said Charles.
Alton was visibly angry from his comment. “What did you say? Arrest him!”
Several of his men steadily walked up to arrest Charles.
Charles no longer had the will to fight after suffering heavy injuries from his fight with Caspian.
He would soon be met with an equally harsh session of interrogation.
Charles still wanted to make a last stand, but it was already a miracle that he could manage to remain conscious while bearing deep wounds,

But Gilbert seemed to have no intention of saving Jean as he stood still without a response.

An offer of several billion dollars would be able to tempt anyone.
Gilbert shuddered as he listened to Charles‘ offer. “It’s a deal, Charles. But if you ever go back on your word, you should already know what will happen.

Gilbert raised his arms in order to shield his head from the attack.

Gilbert retreated backward for dozens of steps before he managed to stabilize himself.
The only thought going through his mind right now was to escape.
From that single punch, he realized he was absolutely no match for Caspian.
Lingering around would only mean being defeated and arrested alongside Charles.
Gilbert steadied himself as he grabbed ahold of Charles.
Charles was still frozen in place after witnessing the impact of Caspian’s punch.
He was surprised that even Gilbert was not a match for Caspian.
He began to wonder about Caspian’s true identity.
