“Please just give me one more chance. I promise I won’t repeat the same mistakes,” Lucas implored.
Cora replied candidly, “I already gave you a chance. I asked you multiple times if something was wrong. If you had come clean back then, I might have responded differently. Yet, you kept rea*suring me that everything was fine, keeping me waiting in the dark for your decision.”
“I’m sorry, Cora. I’ll change! I really will…”
Lucas spent a long time pleading with Cora, but she didn’t budge, and he had to step back, saying, “I’ll deal with the situation with Chloe first and then come back to you. Let’s take
some time to calm down.”

don’t you go out and relax with Sally? You will feel better in no
time.”
