Chapter 88 Be Good
As the car approached, Vera was shocked to see that it was Eileen, accompanied by an unfamiliar man. However, there was something vaguely familiar about him.
“Eric, let’s pull over quickly. It’s Eileen.”
Eileen looked at the car and noticed the familiar license plate number. Her face instantly turned pale.
Just as smoke started billowing from the car’s hood, Eileen hurriedly got out. However, as soon as her foot touched the ground, her b*dy went limp.
Fabian quickly grabbed a spare fire extinguisher and put out the fire.
Jasper walked over, his face filled with concern as he checked on Eileen. “Are you hurt? Can you stand up?”
She wasn’t hurt. Jasper had protected her well during the incident. Eileen didn’t want to admit that she had fallen because her legs had given out from fear.
Whenever she thought about the puppeteer behind the scenes, Eileen’s heart couldn’t find peace. Apprehension constantly loomed over her.
Wiping the blood from his forehead, Richard said, “Ms. Eileen, you must have been frightened.”
A cold glint of murderous intent flashed in Jasper’s eyes, but he gently rea*sured her. “It’s okay, don’t be afraid. I’ll handle this. Can I help you up?”
Eileen spoke softly. “Are you hurt?”
The corners of Jasper’s mouth lifted into a smile. “I’m fine.”
That’s great. I’m glad he’s okay.
Jasper helped Eileen up, her legs still a bit weak. As she stood, she noticed something off about Jasper’s complexion. “Why is your face so pale? Are your legs injured?”
“Lift it up, let me have a look…
Jasper held her hand. “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Fabian said, “I’ve already contacted the mansion. They’ll be sending a car soon. Please bear with it a little longer, Mr. Smith.”

He and Richard knew the inside story. Jasper’s legs hadn’t fully recovered. If Jasper hadn’t insisted, Fabian would never have allowed him to get out of bed.
Today is Ms. Eileen’s birthday. She’s a very special woman to Mr. Smith.
No one expected this to happen. Just as the car was making a sharp turn at high speed, it crashed into the guardrail, and Jasper banged his legs.
Vera hurried over, his face filled with anxious concern. “It’s really you, Eileen! What happened? Are you hurt?”
Eileen noticed that Vera was holding a pink teddy bear. It was the same one that Jasper had asked her if she wanted as a birthday gift. Eileen was surprised to find that Vera also liked it.
“Eric, come here quickly.”
Upon seeing the approaching man, Eileen’s eyes flashed with anger. She quickly averted her gaze, not wanting to look at him.
He sure arrived at the right time. Did he come to ch*ck if we were dead or not? I’m truly sorry for letting you down, Eric.
Eric approached with a sharp look in his eyes. “Mr. Smith had a car accident? Are you seriously injured?”
Eileen noticed that as Eric and Jasper locked eyes, there seemed to be an invisible tension. enveloping the surroundings, creating a somewhat oppressive atmosphere.
Jasper didn’t reply to Eric. He had investigated the background of every single one of the Swans, and none of them came out clean. But Eileen is different, she is kind and beautiful, yet unfortunately born in such a filthy place.
If it weren’t for Eileen, the people of the Swan family wouldn’t even have the privilege to see him. Jasper didn’t pay attention to Eric.
Jasper turned to Fabian and asked, “How much longer until the person arrives?”
Fabian replied, “It’ll take about fifteen more minutes.”
“Did you get a good look at the car that just sped by?”
Fabian lowered his head. “I’m sorry, Mr. Smith. I didn’t get a clear look.”
Jasper’s voice suddenly turned cold. “Then go investigate. I want the culprit caught within three days.”
“Yes, Mr. Smith,” Fabian said.

Vera stepped forward, taking Eileen’s hand with warm concern. “Eileen, are you okay? Eric and I were planning to celebrate your birthday at home. If it weren’t for Sharon, we wouldn’t have known that I missed your last birthday. This time, I’ve prepared a gift for you but you didn’t show up. Next time, I want to host a birthday party for you again.”
Eileen’s face turned cold as she withdrew her hand. “No need to trouble yourself. You and Eric should go back first! We’ll handle everything here.”
She could feel Eric’s gaze on her every move. Eileen didn’t want to meet his eyes.
“How can we casually trouble others with our own affairs, Eileen? Have you forgotten what Father said? If you encounter any trouble or mishap outside, just let me know. You and Vera get in the car first, I’ll have a few words with Mr. Smith, then I’ll take you home.” Eric’s voice was like the calm after a storm.
He had warned Eileen that he wouldn’t let her off easily if she met with Jasper privately.
Jasper pulled her behind him. “Ill ensure Eileen’s safe return. Mr. Snow, there’s no need for you to worry.”
Eric smiled slightly. He didn’t pay any attention to Jasper. Instead, his gaze fell on Eileen. “Eileen, be good, okay?”
Eileen took a step from behind Jasper. “Jasper… I want to go home with Eric first.”
She wouldn’t be able to escape Eric as long as she was still with the Swan family.
A hint of melancholy flashed in Jasper’s eyes. His hand rested on her head, his voice carrying a tone of indulgence. “When you get home, remember to call me.”
Eileen quickly responded, nodded, and left, taking a seat in Eric’s car.
She tactfully took a seat in the back, right behind the co-driver’s seat.
Vera said, “Eric, I’ll wait for you in the car…”
Eileen sat in the car, gazing out the window, unable to make out what they were saying.
Vera turned to Eileen and asked, “Eileen, it seemed like that person had feelings for you. Are you two dating?”
“This is my personal matter… Eileen closed her eyes, feeling apprehensive. What will Eric do to me when I return?
At the moment, she had no power to confront him. She simply couldn’t defeat Eric.

sorry! I was just worried about you.”
Eileen didn’t respond. She heard the driver’s seat door open and close again. Vera was whispering something to Eric.
She didn’t bother to pay attention.
The car slowly started moving, and soon they arrived at Undella Mansion.
Eric commanded, “Get out of the car!”
Eileen opened her eyes. She hadn’t said a word during the journey. Even when Eric asked her something, she didn’t hear it clearly.

Upon entering the mansion, the living room lights were on. Mary was propping up on the verge of falling asleep. The table was filled with a variety of dishes, and in the middle. there was a cake that was almost completely eaten.
Upon hearing the noise, Mary quickly woke up. She yawned, wiping the drool from her chin. “Oh my, Ms. Eileen, what time is it? Why are you just getting home now? There’s a whole. table of food here. I’ll warm it up for you. It’s been ready for quite a while.”
Eileen’s face remained expressionless. “No need. I’ve already eaten. I’m going upstairs to rest
first.”
“Halt!”
Eric, like the master of the house, tossed his car keys at the entrance and walked straight in. emanating a chilling and dangerous aura.
