Chapter 84 Heartless.
“I’m transferring to Cla*s One, Eileen mentioned casually as she stood up and walked over to the water dispenser to pour herself a cup of water to take her medicine.
As soon as the words were spoken, the cla*sroom quickly erupted into a lively discussion.
Among the crowd, someone questioned mockingly, “Is that for real? How long do you think. she can last in Cla*s One if she gets in by cheating? The workload in that cla*s is intense. I guarantee she’ll be back here in three days.”
“Who can argue with that? Cheating to this extent just to switch cla*ses surely isn’t easy!”
“I’d rather die than do that.”
Infuriated by the snide remarks, Walsh defended Eileen. “Who said Eileen cheated? Did any of you see her cheat? Don’t forget, all of you saw Eileen’s math test paper just now. She scored perfectly! Accusing someone else of cheating just because you performed badly is such a shameful act! I think you should be ashamed of yourselves! You just can’t stand to see others. doing well.”
My math test paper?
Eileen’s gaze turned to focus on Vera, who was seated in front of Elm.
Vera was looking at her with an innocent expression, trying to hide her guilt.
Without saying a word, Eileen simply returned to her seat. After all, she was about to be moved to another cla*s, so she couldn’t be bothered to argue any further.
Walsh should have minded her own business. I don’t need anyone else to protect me.
Eileen packed up her things, carried her textbooks, and left the cla*sroom.
“Eileen!” Vera stood up, wanting to chase after Eileen, but her deskmate held her back. “Don’t mind her. Cla*s is about to start.”
Charlie was lounging with his foot hooked on the table. Leaning back to look past Elm at Albert, he whistled, catching the latter’s attention. Albert turned his gaze towards Charlie. upon hearing the sound.
Charlie raised an eyebrow. “Is she really going to Cla*s One?”
Albert shrugged, “You’re asking me? How would I know?”
“What’s all the fuss about!”

All of a sudden, Elm let out a roar of anger as he was roused from his sleep by the
commotion but quickly calmed down. His peripheral vision caught sight of a neatly cleared.
scat.
With a forceful kick, Elm sent the stool flying as he shot up from his seat. He then slammed his fist against the door before storming out.
“Elm, where are you going? Cla*s is about to start!”
Charlie stood up to chase after Elm, but Albert grabbed him.
“Why are you grabbing me?”
Albert spoke up. “Don’t meddle in things that don’t concern you.”
“I’m meddling? What is there for me to meddle with? The three of us are in this together. Elm has already left. What’s the point of attending cla*ses?” Charlie retorted.
Albert stated nonchalantly, “If you go, you’ll just get beaten up. Whatever. I won’t stop you.”
Upon hearing that, Charlie plopped down in Elm’s seat, “What exactly do you mean? Explain it to me. I don’t get it.”
Albert shook his head and scoffed. “Idiot!”
Just as the cla*s bell rang, Eileen had already reached the first floor.
Suddenly, a person emerged from the corner, blocking her path..
Eileen stood on the steps of the corridor.
The cla*sroom was originally air-conditioned, yet he seemed unfazed by the cold when he stepped out. He took off his school jacket, leaving only a black sweater on. His neck was fully exposed, truly showcasing the vigor of his youth.
Eileen took a step to the side, thinking she was blocking his way.
She descended the steps, pa*sing by him.
“Eileen Swan, you sure are quite capable!” Elm took out a cigarette from his pocket, put it in his mouth, and lit it with a red-blue flame. Holding it between his fingertips, he exhaled a puff of Blake smoke before casually asking. “Do you think everything’s over?”
Eileen slowed her steps and came to a halt. “Isn’t it better if I leave Cla*s Six and stop being a thorn in your side? I don’t owe you anything, Elm.”
Elm lowered his head and chuckled, “Indeed. It’s not you who owes me, it’s Eric. Since you’re

in cahoots with him, how could I possibly let you off the hook? Since you’ve already transferred cla*ses, you might as well just drop out!”
Is he out of his mind?
“It won’t be much longer, Elm. Soon, you won’t see me anymore.” Eileen’s voice was filled with melancholy. Quickly, she added, “Our exams are around the corner. You should hurry back and study.”
Eileen stepped onto the tiled floor covered with square patterns. The snow had melted by
now.
A cold wind blew, tickling her throat. It wasn’t long before Eileen started coughing again.
Walking into the library, Eileen sat down at her usual spot.
At the moment, her only ticket out was getting into Hulbury University and earning the opportunity to become an exchange student abroad.
Perhaps Will might change his opinion after seeing her efforts.
Eileen wanted to prove that a daughter was not merely a tool for marriage alliances.. daughter could also support her family.
Outside the grand floor-to-ceiling window, a heavy snowstorm began to fall again.
Eileen bowed her head, engrossed in her writing. Her image reflected on the gla*s window. Her long hair falling gently over her shoulders. It was a serene and graceful scene.
After working on a few test papers, she started to feel a bit hungry. Glancing at her phone, she realized it was just about time for a meal.
Just then, a message notification popped up on her phone: Eileen, I have a gift prepared for you. I hope you’ll like it when you see it.
Keeping Eric’s advice in mind, Eileen did not respond to Jasper’s messages.
She had even deleted all of their chat history.
If she hadn’t gone through all that she had gone through, perhaps they could have been good.
friends.
She should have recognized him the first time they met.
Jasper Smith was truly a wonderful person.
At the very least, she had no regrets about saving him.

At least his life did not end there and then.
Saving him was the greatest fortune of her life.
Jasper had given her a lot of warmth, at least that was how she perceived it.
He had chatted with her, showed up whenever she was feeling down, accompanied her to art exhibitions…
And not to forget their little secret….
Eric was narrow-minded and sinister, resorting to ruthless methods. He would hold grudges and never let any offense go unpunished. In the past, when he and Will were involved in underground activities, he carried the burden of countless lives on his shoulders. He was willing to do anything to achieve his goals.
After much difficulty, Jasper finally healed his leg injury. Despite being the head of the Smith family, a prominent household in Hulbury, Eric could easily undo Jasper’s healing without. leaving a trace. After all, Eric was always meticulous and never revealed his true intentions.
Eileen did not want to harm another innocent person.
Jasper, I don’t think we will ever meet again in the future. Goodbye, Jasper.
Eileen stood up to stretch her limbs. After Sharon left, the meals prepared by Mary imitated Sharon’s cooking. However, her culinary skills were far from Sharon’s. Over the past few days, Eileen ate very little at home. Sometimes, she preferred not to eat at all.
There were still some snacks and bread in her backpack, so Eileen made do and ate some.
She was nibbling on a piece of bread when suddenly, a brand-new book was thrown onto the table in front of her with a loud thud.
Startled, Eileen looked up, widening her eyes in surprise at the person standing before her. When she realized who it was, her expression darkened as she stopped chewing. “What are you doing here?”
Elm leaned back in his chair casually, gestured towards the book in front of him with his chin, and said, “It’s almost exam season. Tutor me.”
Eileen looked at him as if she had heard the funniest joke in the world. Elm, who despised her to the extreme, was approaching her voluntarily, asking her to tutor him?
“Sorry, I’m busy. Go find Vera instead!” Eileen bowed her head and continued to work on the practice questions in front of her.
Lifting her gaze, she noticed Elm glaring at her with his arms crossed and a gloomy

expression on his face
Pursing her l*ps. Eileen said, “Elm, I’ve been deliberately avoiding you I know you don’t like seeing me, so I’ve transferred to another cla*s. We won’t be in the same cla*s anymore, so we ll encounter each other less. For the next six months, I have a lot of things to do. If you truly want to improve your studies, you can go to Vera. Don’t come to me if it makes you uncomfortable. Besides, I don’t have the energy to teach you either.”
With a slight raise of his eyebrows, Elm sneered coldly. “What a heartless person you are, Eileen. You’re indeed just like Will.” He stood up, picked up his book, and turned to leave.
Eileen stared at Elm’s retreating figure in confusion, utterly bewildered. What is he up to now?
