Chapter 81 Is He Bullying You?
Eileen arrived at school early, but upon entering the cla*sroom, she was confused about where her seat was.
Previously, everyone had their own desk, but now they were paired up. Eileen had to search for her desk partner one by one, not knowing who was unlucky enough to be paired with her.
Eileen usually sat in the last row. After searching for a while, she realized her seat was still in its original position. The things in her desk drawer hadn’t been moved, but more items had been added. Among them was a pink letter with her name written on the envelope over a pink heart.
Curious, Eileen put down her backpack. She was indeed attractive and had received quite a few confessions before. However, all the boys who confessed to her would inexplicably be bullied by others. Over time, no one dared to like her anymore.
Eileen had never been in love or dated before. After graduating from university, she married Eric. He was busy with his career and was almost always occupied during their marriage. By the time he finished work, it was already the early hours of the morning. She had accustomed to waiting for him to come home every night.

Their interactions were simple. She had never experienced what it felt like to be in love.
Even simple things like holding hands, eating meals together, watching movies, or strolling around the street, she had never experienced any of those things.
Eileen didn’t open the letter, nor did she look inside it. Instead, she tucked it into her book.
The seat next to her was empty. Eileen didn’t know who it was meant for. Perhaps it was just
for show.
Around half past eight, Eileen stretched out one hand on the table, burying her face in the crook of her right arm. She heard the noise of others entering the cla*sroom, and with a flutter of her eyelashes, she quickly woke up.
“Who is the person sitting at the back?”
“Oh my gosh! Don’t tell me it’s Eileen Swan! I heard she stopped coming to school. Why did. she come back?”
“Why else? She must have been forced to return. Obviously.”
“What rotten luck.”
“If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t speak at all. No one will think you’re a mute!”

Eileen raised her head in a daze, and a cold smile curved her l*ps. Also, the want to badmouth someone, don’t do it to their face. I’m not deaf.”
She may not like to argue with them, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have a temper.
The two girls who walked in were frightened and didn’t dare to say anything more.
Students in the nine o’clock cla*s began to arrive one after another. Every seat was taken aside from a few who rarely showed up.
“There’s only half an hour left,” Vera said as he walked into the cla*sroom surrounded by a group of people. “I’m really sorry. I received all the birthday gifts you gave me last time. It really like them, thank you all.”
“Actually, we were in the wrong last time too. We hope you won’t take it to heart,
Vera.
Vera responded with a slight smile. “It’s okay.”
“By the way, I bought a bottle of perfume last weekend. Can you tell me what you think of the scent? Also, can you help me choose a l*pstick shade? I’ve been trying to decide for a while now, but I’m not sure which one to use.”
“Sure!” Vera noticed the seat on the last row at the corner of the cla*sroom. “Eileen?”
Vera quickly walked over. When the girls by Vera’s side saw that it was Eileen, they disdainfully rolled their eyes and sneered coldly.
Eileen felt a bit dizzy, unsure if it was because she had caught a cold from being out in the snow yesterday. Upon hearing Vera’s voice, she lifted her head to see her approaching.
“Eileen, I thought you were resting at home. Nothing happened between you and Eric last. night, right? Why did you leave? Do you have any idea that Sharon was worried sick about. you?”
“Can you ask Eric to send Sharon back?” Eileen’s clear eyes watched the light dimmed in Vera’s eyes.
The answer was already quite clear in her hesitation.
Sharon could do a lot at her place, such as washing clothes, cooking, and cleaning. Every day. after school, Vera could even enjoy meals personally prepared by Sharon. How could she bear to let Sharon leave?
Eileen coughed a few times, her voice sounding a bit hoarse. Vera skillfully changed the subject. “Eileen, stop talking. Your throat is hoarse. How about I go and buy some medicine for you? Wait a moment. I’ll pour you some water to drink.”

Vera quickly put down her backpack and ran outside to fetch her a cup of water. Every cla*sroom was equipped with a water dispenser and disposable cups. “Eileen, have some water,” she said.
“Put it there. I don’t feel like drinking anything right now.” Eileen slumped on the table.
“Wait for me. I’ll go to the infirmary and get you some medicine.”
“You don’t have to go through so much trouble. I’ll be fine in a bit. It’s probably because I didn’t get a good night’s rest last night, so don’t worry about me.”
Vera crouched beside Eileen, her voice soft as she asked, “Eileen, can you tell me what happened after Eric left with you? Did he bully you? How did you get sick?”
Eileen knew she was worried something might’ve happened between her and Eric because Vera was aware of how much she liked Eric. How could Vera be at ease with her being alone. with Eric?
Yet, she was bringing up Eric and the nightmare that occurred the night before.
She snapped, “If you want to know it so badly, why don’t you ask Eric yourself what he did to me? I’m not feeling too good right now, so I don’t want to talk about what happened last night.”
Vera choked on her words, her eyes reflecting her dissatisfaction. She felt a tightness in her chest, deeply troubled by the events of the previous night.
Eric’s expression was dark when he came back the night before. He didn’t tell her anything. when she asked him about it. The feeling of uncertainty made her feel uneasy.
She was also afraid that Eric would break his promise because of Eileen.
She was aware of how much Eileen used to adore Eric. Eileen had wished she could spend every minute of the day with him.
Vera felt just the same.
She returned to her seat with countless thoughts and doubts swirling in her mind.
Her desk mate asked with concern, “Vera, are you alright?”
Vera smiled and replied, “I’m fine.”
The first lesson began with a brief math quiz. Eileen approached the test with determination.
The test paper was only half a page long and consisted of questions created by the teacher herself. It included five multiple-choice questions, worth ten points, followed by fill-in-the-

blank questions and a few application problems. The final question proved to be quite challenging, taking Eileen approximately ten minutes to solve.
She completed the entire paper in less than half an hour.
Putting her pen down, she started to drift off to sleep once again.
When it was time to collect the papers, the math teacher noticed that Eileen was still asleep. He sighed and shook his head. “Don’t think that just because you happened to do well on the last exam, you can ignore this one. Even if your family is wealthy and influential, leaving school without knowledge will only bring shame upon you. Vera, you performed excellently. last time. From now on, you will be the math representative of our cla*s. After cla*s, remember to come to my office to collect the papers from the previous two International Mathematical Olympiads. If there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to visit. my office anytime.”
Vera glanced at Eileen, who was lying on the table, and nodded. “Alright, sir. Eileen seems to be feeling a bit unwell. I can bring her papers to the office later.”
The math teacher responded with a rather indifferent acknowledgement and then continued, “Very well, let’s proceed with the lesson. Everyone, please take out your quizzes from the last cla*s. We’re going to discuss the questions.”
