Chapter 70 Harmonious Atmosphere
“What would you like to drink?” Quinton asked.
Eileen replied, “Just a cup of warm water, please.”
Suddenly, a familiar voice broke the silence. “Well, well, if it isn’t Eileen! Long time no see!”
Eileen turned to see Eric approaching with a sharp gaze and a dominating presence. She felt a wave of dread wash over her, and her panic almost made her blurt out an explanation.
In her past life, even if Eric didn’t love her, his possessiveness was disturbingly extreme.
Eileen scolded herself inwardly, “Eileen, oh Eileen! How weak can you be? You’re just ordinary siblings now, and yet you’re so afraid of him! Can’t you have some dignity?”
Trying to compose herself, Eileen stood up and nodded. “Yes, Mr. Wright brought me here to cat right after I finished my lesson.”
Quinton stood up and extended his hand to Eric. “Hello, I’m Quinton Wright, Eileen’s golf coach.”
Eric briefly shook hands with Quinton. “Eric Snow, Eileen’s brother.”
Eileen couldn’t help but think, “His surname is Snow, but mine is Swan.”
Quinton didn’t inquire further. “Since we’ve run into each other, why don’t we have a meal together? Eileen and I just arrived as well.”
Eric looked at Eileen and abruptly said, “No need, I have plans.”
Zachary, eager to stir up trouble, chimed in, “Eric, don’t be like that! It’s rare for me to have a meal with Eileen. Besides, Vera will be here soon. What’s the rush? Right, Eileen?”
Petalburg High School had a lunch break of over two hours, so they had plenty of time.
Suddenly, Eileen remembered something.
Today was Vera’s birthday. Eileen’s own birthday was next week on the twelfth, exactly one week apart from Vera’s.
Her birthday celebration was usually simple. Every year, Sharon would make her a cake and her favorite pasta.
With Sharon taking care of Vera, Eileen didn’t expect anything this year.

She hadn’t even used the gift card he gave her last time.
Eric showing up at this time meant he was planning a birthday party for Vera.
A waiter appeared at the perfect moment and said, “Mr. Snow, the birthday cake you reserved. is ready. Should we bring it into the private room now?”
Zachary observed Eileen’s reaction, hoping for some drama.
Seeing her indifferent expression and nonchalant demeanor, he felt a bit disappointed.
Zachary teased, “Eric, don’t tell me you didn’t invite your sister to Vera’s birthday.”
The atmosphere became awkward. Eileen regretted agreeing to this meal in the first place.
She quickly explained, “He did invite me, but I declined. There’s a misunderstanding between me and Vera, so if I were to show up, things would become awkward. Eric, you need to worry about me. After lunch, I have other cla*ses to attend.”

“After you finish eating, come find me in the private room. I’ll give you a ride,” Eric insisted.
Eileen declined again, “No need, Alan will give me a ride.
“Alan went to pick up Vera and will also give her a ride back. Who else will give you a ride?”
At that moment, Quinton spoke up, “Hold on, I can give her a ride. It’s not easy to find a taxi around here. Where are you going later?”
Eileen clenched her fists. “Skyline Building.”
Quinton smiled. “Perfect, it’s on the way.”
“Thank you, Mr. Wright.”
“You’re welcome.”
Eileen was about to say something to Eric, but he coldly interrupted, “Up to you.”
With that, he turned and left.
Quinton noticed Eileen’s nervous expression. “Sit down, we have plenty of time to there.

Feeling somewhat uneasy, Eileen took her seat. The waiter then brought over the dessert.

Sensing that something was off from the previous conversation, Quinton decided not to bring it up again. Instead, he talked to Eileen about other things. He introduced her to all the entertainment options in Primas Plaza and shared some amusing stories to cheer her up.
Eileen was an open book, and Quinton could easily guess what she was thinking.
Meanwhile, Vera’s birthday celebration was in full swing. Many cla*smates from their school. had come to celebrate.
What Vera hadn’t told Eileen was that she had transferred to Eileen’s cla*s, Cla*s Six.
Naturally, Elm and others were among the attendees.
Surrounded by a group of girls, Vera entered the private room, completely unaware that Eileen, sitting conspicuously by the window, was chatting and laughing with an older man.
Walking behind Vera, Elm immediately noticed Eileen.
Albert and Charlie, who hadn’t seen Eileen in a while, were surprised to see her there.
“Speak of the devil!” Charlie exclaimed. “Isn’t Vera her sister? Didn’t she invite her to the birthday party? I can understand, though. With Eileen’s annoying personality, how could anyone like her?”
“Wait, now that I think about it, I can’t believe Eileen actually ranked first in the exam. In Cla*s One, she’s in the top five. Did she cheat?”
Charlie casually remarked, “Don’t forget how badly Eileen was bullied in Cla*s Six! It’s normal for her to change cla*ses to improve her grades.”
Both of them stared at Elm, who was idly playing with a lighter in his hand, wondering what he was thinking.
Noticing their gaze, Elm smirked and said, “Why bother with all that?”
As they entered the room, Eileen and Quinton were almost finished with their meal.
“Have you eaten enough?” Albert asked..
Eileen nodded.
Albert glanced at the older man sitting across from her. “Isn’t he a bit too old for her? Could it be that Will has given Eileen away so soon? This guy looks old enough to be her father.”
Charlie sl*pped his hands into his pockets, a faint smile playing at the corners of his l*ps. “I actually think Eileen really likes him. They make a great couple and their chemistry is perfect. If they have feelings for each other, what’s the harm in being together? Right, Elm?”

Elm chuckled. “Seems like you guys have nothing better to do, huh?”
Quinton picked up his coat from the chair, draped it over his arm, and grabbed his car keys.
I’ll go settle the bill first.”
“Let’s go.
Eileen nodded.
They both stood up simultaneously and headed to the front desk to pay the bill together.
Catching sight of the people standing at the entrance, she gave them an indifferent glance and quickly averted her gaze.
While settling the bill at the front desk, the cashier handed over the check. Quinton handed his coat to her. “Could you hold this for me?”
Eileen took his coat from him.
Quinton’s slender fingers pressed on one side of the check, and with the hand holding the pen, he signed his name.
Seeing the total amount, Eileen was surprised. They had only ordered a few dishes, bill exceeded a thousand dollars.

Eileen said somewhat sheepishly, “I’m sorry for making you spend so much.”
“Well, since you feel bad, how about buying a few more lessons from me next time? I’ll give you a discount.”
Quinton took the coat from her hands and put it on.
“Sure, no problem.”
The two of them stepped outside and coincidentally walked past Elm and his group.
