A powerful force pushed her away, and she fell to the ground. The shards cut her palm, causing sharp pain Blood flowed from her hand, staining her clothes.
Reluctance flashed in Jasper’s eyes. He took a step forward, but then stopped himself, suppressing his emotions. He turned his back to her, staring out the window. “You should leave first.”
He didn’t want to hurt her. He just couldn’t accept her betrayal.
He loved her deeply, giving her everything she wanted. Yet, she treated him like a fool, deceiving him repeatedly.
Was she mocking him while she was with Eric, lost in their pa*sionate encounters?
Eileen grimaced in pain as she pulled out the gla*s shard from her palm. She looked down and said, “Alright. Let’s talk when you’ve calmed down.”
She turned around and left the room.
Jasper turned around and saw the bloodstain where she had been. His gaze, filled with anguish, rested on the firmly closed door.
The housekeeper was surprised to see the injured Eileen.
“Eileen got hurt, but Jasper surprisingly didn’t care. In the past, Jasper was very fond of Eileen. He wouldn’t even let her hold a kitchen knife, fearing she might cut herself.”
The housekeeper brought the first aid kit and treated Eileen’s wound. Thankfully, it wasn’t deep.
Eileen said, “You can leave now. Remember to bring some food to his room later and remind him to take his medicine.”
“Alright, Eileen. Please rest well.”
As the housekeeper left, she glanced worriedly at Jasper sitting at the end of the bed.
After a long wait, Eileen finally had some peace and quiet.
Suddenly, the phone on the desk rang. Eileen didn’t feel like answering, but it kept ringing. She looked at the caller ID information.
Eileen’s heart skipped a beat. Just before the call was about to end, she picked it up, feeling anxious and panicked.
“Father!”
“Why did the Smith family call off the engagement ceremony?”
Will sounded angry.
“I… I don’t know,” Eileen stuttered, lowering her head.

“You don’t need to worry about that. Just focus on what you need to do. No matter what approach you take you must ensure the engagement proceeds as planned. Understood?”
Eileen responded softly. “Alright, Father.”
In the study of Undella Mansion, Will hung up the phone and looked at Eric.
“How did you find out that Jasper wants to call off the engagement?” Will looked at him deeply. He realized that his son had become more shrewd and cunning over the years.
He was no longer the easily manipulated child.
“Whether Eileen can successfully marry into the Smith family also concerns the company’s interests. As her brother, I naturally have to consider this matter for your sake,” Eric replied.
Will was speechless. “Knowing that you’re thinking of the company brings me comfort. It shows that over the years, you’ve accepted me as your father.”
A sharp glint flashed in Eric’s eyes, too quick for Will to notice.
“You planted someone in the Smith residence?” Will asked.
Eric nodded without denying. “Jasper recently took over the company. Firstly, it’s to monitor his every move, and secondly, it’s because he and Eileen might encounter unexpected situations.”

Will patted Eric’s shoulder. “I’ve always trusted you to handle things, and these years have proven that I was right about you.”

The housekeeper brought a meal to Jasper, but he threw it all away in a fit of anger.
Eileen hurried over and helped the housekeeper up. “Are you okay?”

Eileen, please take a look at this.” Another housekeeper climbed up the stairs and handed her a file. “We found this in Jasper’s car.”
Eileen took it. “I’ll give it to him. You guys can continue with your work. I can handle things here.”
The housekeepers quickly left.
As Eileen was about to give the file to Jasper, a photo fell out.
She picked up the photo and her heart skipped a beat.
The person in the photo was captivating, effortlessly striking poses on the bed that were both alluring and slightly menacing.
“It’s him again!” she thought.
Besides Eric, Eileen couldn’t think of anyone else.
Eileen’s hand trembled as she held the file.
“Is he really so determined to destroy everything I have?” she wondered.
A sour sting in her nose and a painful lump in her throat left her speechless.
However, Eileen couldn’t recall ever taking these photos.
If it was a still from a video recording, the pose wouldn’t look like this at all.
Upon closer inspection, Eileen noticed something was off. “Could it be possible that the photo is fake? Is Jasper so angry because of these?”
Hesitantly, Eileen opened the door to Jasper’s room, leaving only a small gap.
She overheard a conversation from inside.
“Mr. Smith, your flight to Sloummont has been booked. However, all the recent flights are fully booked. The earliest available is in a week.”
“Alright!”
