Chapter 216 I Don’t Need You
In the midst of her thoughts, a phone call interrupted and scattered Eileen’s concentration.
The call came from an unfamiliar number, and Eileen didn’t know who it was, but she had a hunch deep down.
Initially, a string of unfamiliar numbers appeared on the screen, but somehow, those numbers transformed into the name “Sarah.”
It felt as if Eileen had forgotten how to breathe, her hands tightly clutching the hem of her skirt.

She heard the other person scoff, and then the call abruptly ended.
This blatant mockery felt like a slap to Eileen’s face.
Is that Nancy?
Has she returned a long time ago?
The day she disappeared, when Jasper found me, there was a look of fear of losing her in his eyes. And that hint of strangeness in his gaze, what was it?

“Eileen…” Natalie’s voice rang out, her breath coming in gasps as if she was searching for someone. Finally, she found that familiar figure in a certain place.
She walked over carefully and squatted down in front of Eileen. “Eileen, are you okay?” Natalie’s hand gently stroked her back. “Are you feeling unwell?”
Eileen wiped her eyes, then looked up.
“How did you get here?”
With a worried look in her eyes, Natalie said, “I noticed earlier that you seemed upset. I was concerned about you, so I came to find you.”
Eileen tugged at the corner of her mouth, forcing a faint smile. Tm fine. You can go ahead”

“Let me keep you company for a while,” Natalie said as she sat down next to Eileen. She pulled out a bottle of milk from her pocket and handed it to her. “Have something sweet. I don’t know what’s happened, but maybe it can cheer you up. If you feel like crying, I can give you a hug.”
“I don’t want to cry, nor do I need a hug. Thanks for the milk. I’m heading back to the cla*sroom now.”
Natalie watched as Eileen walked away. She then lowered her gaze to her own fingers, blaming herself. Did I say something wrong?
It seemed that due to yesterday’s incident, she and Jasper had fallen into a cold war.
Normally, he would always message her during her break time.
But now, her mailbox was empty.
To avoid being affected by all of this, Eileen simply turned off her phone.

One by one, the secretaries who went in to deliver documents came out crying after being scolded.
People from other departments who came to get Jasper’s signature were trembling. None of them dared to enter, as several had been directly dismissed.
Fabian had just returned from outside. As he stepped out of the elevator, he realized that he had never seen the entrance to the CEO’s office this lively before.
“What are you guys doing? Playing cards at the door?”
Upon seeing Fabian, they reacted as if they had seen their savior. They all approached him. and one of the secretaries informed him about the events that had transpired in his absence.
Fabian nodded. “I understand. Give me the documents. All of you can go back first.”
“Mr. Sherwood, you truly are a lifesaver, always there to help in times of need. I’m entrusting this matter to you.”
One by one, they handed him the files, and then everyone else ran off.
Fabian pushed open the office door, only to find the room in complete disarray.
“Who let you in? Get out.”

Just leave them there for now.”
Fabian stepped forward and placed the documents on the table. Unintentionally, he noticed an unanswered call on the CEO’s desk. It was Eileen’s phone number.
Could it be that the CEO is upset because of Ms. Eileen?
It feels like she’s the only one who can stir his emotions so intensely.
If the CEO misses Ms. Eileen, he should just call her directly. There’s no need to stay upset for so long.
