Her movements were gentle, and it took less than half an hour to finish blowing his hair dry.

Eileen put away the hairdryer while Eric got up and went to bed, lying there as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Turn off the light,” he said.
Eileen lay on the couch, her hand tightly clutching the blanket. She stammered, “I… I… I’m used to sleeping with the lights on.”
