entrance.
There was a hint of surprise in her eyes. “Rita, aren’t you on a vacation?”
Rita was no longer as confused and dispirited as she was when the incident first happened. She walked over with a smile on her face. “I immediately came back when I learned that Perficient lost the lawsuit. Ms. Pond, thank you for finding the evidence and proving my innocence.”
Silvia smiled gently. “It’s my responsibility. You’re an employee of MY Corporation. I’m protecting the company’s interest by protecting your interest.”
Rita nodded. “My father wants to treat you to a meal as thanks. When are you free?”
“He doesn’t have to do that. Please let Mr. Williams know that I should be the one thanking him. Since you’re back, does it mean that you’re ready to work on next season’s designs?”
Rita laughed when she heard this. “Ms. Pond, I still have three days of paid leave.”
“You can always cut it short.”
